The name is probably spanish. There are shite ton of people whose ancestors came from spain in Iberia, St. Martin, and Plaquemines parish

A bunch of names is this thread aren't cajun - they're either spanish, german, of French - but of people who came straight from France, and never settled in Nova Scotia

Is it? Pretty sure it came from Avoyelles Parish from families that came directly from France
