Who’s bitching about Luke Combs? Not a huge fan of “new” country music, but he’s pretty solid. He’s a big ole fat dude that wears PFGs and sings pretty good.

I didn't know who this guy was until my wife made a booking mistake at a hotel near the knoxville airport. She booked on the wrong day so we had no reservation. Turns out this guy was in concert in Knoxville. Not a hotel room to be found anywhere around Knoxville. Ended up driving south of Knoxville and staying in a fleabag hotel for a night.

He's one of the biggest country music star on the planet, right now. That's why.

No idea. Can’t name one song the guy sings. I’ve haven’t turned the station from talk radio in over a decade.

It’s always going back to the 90’s era country. I bet people over 50 in the 90’s prefer the country music of the 60’s and 70’s.

Yeah they’d have been saying “Garth brooks ain’t no Waylon” back then

Just another of the current list of faux country music singers with a half-arse country accent that have helped ruin what was once a great music genre.

I'm no fan of him and he likely is a douche, however, the guy charted every song(top 100) on a 30 song album in the same week his last album release. He printing money for he, his label and whatever elites are pushing the buttons behind him. He's in unprecedented waters as an artist after being canceled for using the word only a single race of people are "allowed" to utter. I think that means he can probably do whatever the frick he wants and he likely doesn't care what you, I or anyone else think about it. Little white girls and ladies all over the country buy and like his stuff making him damn near untouchable at the present time.

People with decent taste preferred 60s/70s over 90s country (and still do).

There is a fair amount of decent country music being made right now. I do not include Morgan Wallen in that description, though I should also admit to not being particularly familiar with his music. What I have heard, I have not cared for.

Until about the year 2000, mainstream country music sounded like country music. Certain styles and themes changed, but when you heard the music, you knew you were listening to country music.

Yeah, when I hear a song like "Islands in the Stream" or "I Will Always Love You," I know I'm listening to country.

Country music goes in cycles. When George Strait tried to enter the scene during the rhinestone cowboy era, he was told he was too country. A few years later after there was a "traditional" counter-movement, he was initially told again he wasn't country enough.

I think both Garth and Kenny are squids but like a bunch of their music. Anyone who says they didn't like it are just try-hard country music snobs. I got news for you, a bunch of the country music from the 60s and 70s sucked.

That’s not a rap song. That’s his song “Broadway Girls”
