Morgan Waller being popular is a good fit here. People perplexed about the popularity of someone like him is also a good fit.

If you ran to the Morgan Wallen subreddit and said "what who is that" you'd have a good point. But in a thread filled with weeping and gnashing of teeth about some dude many of us aren't all that familiar with, people expressing their confusion about why this is a big deal is a fair subject.

Nah, it's a google search away.

Of the people who pop into a thread and say, "who is that?" the actual % of those who are doing so asking honestly has to be really small. Because if you actually wanted to know, you'd google it and get your answer in 10 seconds.

I'd venture to guess the vast majority know who it is, don't like that person so they say "who is that" or they don't know and also don't care who it is. The amount that are genuinely asking is very small, if any for a given thread like that.

I don't give 2 shits. I like his music. It's nothing like Florida Georgia line and Luke bryant. He actually writes the majority of his own shite and is talented as a songwriter and singer.

I’m not sure this is true. After listening to a few of his songs, I looked up his albums and the songwriting credits. He’s gradually had more songs on his albums to his credit, but most were still written by other people. Looked like every song on his debut album were written by other people. I didn’t see a single one where he was the sole songwriter.
