It doesn't make sense in the context of taking the "pro-birth" position that progressives have been accusing the pro-life movement of for decades, and that the pro-life movement has been denying for as long.

Purely anecdotal, but my wife and I waited 8 years to have our first. We were constantly asked why we hadn’t had kids yet. People couldn’t understand that we were going to have kids when we were ready, and we weren’t on anyone else’s timeline.

This was my experience. I never looked for validation from anyone; people with kids constantly asked when we were going to have them and then spent the next several minutes vacillating between talking about how much time, effort, and money go into children and saying how worth it it is. If that's not seeking validation, I don't know what is

Feminist Materialism has brainwashed women to choose rejection of their very female/feminine/maternal/nurturing nature over long-term meaning and fulfillment. That just tells you the power of ideology.
I understand some women make this choice correctly, but I would guess the vast majority will hate the loneliness of middle age and feel betrayed by what they were sold.
