Saturday night there apparently was a shooting next to Schlitz & Giggles.
Didn't see this anywhere on the news.
Yet again, black gun culture continues to terrorize BR.

Sid the mayor, Sid the sheriff, and that twat of a police chief are all utter and complete failures. Absolute failures at "protecting". Citizens bitch about CATS, BREC, and COA. Rightfully so. But they should be bitching about paying for two law enforcement agencies that are likely corrupt as any of those agencies.
At least you have property you can go walk on with BREC. I see nothing justifying EBRSO or BRPD at this point. Complete wastes of taxpayer money.

For the most part it was contained to the usual areas. It’s much more widespread now.
It’s a real shame what Broome did to downtown Baton Rouge. Kip turned 3rd St. into a thriving entertainment district which led to new apartments, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Now it's just a wasteland

I remember going downtown about 12 years ago and trying to get a slice after the bar about an hour before S&G closed. I walked past the crowd out front and tried to open the door, but it was locked. A guy inside pointed to the side door, we met him there, and he let us in. He explained that they have to lock the doors because the usual suspects come in and cause trouble, fight, dine and dash, and run everyone else off.

I’m all for calling out these politicians but I don’t think people understand the amount of damage that Broome did to this city. It’s not something you recover from the day someone else takes office. I think coach is doing what he can with what he’s got. It’s going to take a hell of a long time to recover from what Broome did (if that’s even possible).

Keep seeing this… okay fair enough he needs time to clean up the shite. But in times of urgent crisis like the mall and other public shootings… his words and reactions have been virtually non existent.
It’s his lack of passion and balls to piss off people that is very disappointing. It makes us think he isn’t doing anything and just won’t be “as bad as Broome”

ok, tell me all the things any one of them have done to improve the status quo? The mayor is 1.5 years into a four-year term. Sheriff has been in even longer and TJ seems like a hand-picked white version of the previous, racist, black activist chief who was an abject failure as well. I see nothing to indicate any of them want to actually improve crime in BR. And the mayor can't even effectively address the situation verbally. Tell me how they are not failures.

Do what Texas does around big cities. Start wiping property away and rebuild, make expensive to live basically gentrify the whole area.
