Monterey Bay Aquarium in California has been slammed online because of a tweet fat-shaming Abby, one of its otters.

However, the aquarium was quickly inundated with criticism – particularly over its choice of slang, which has been called out as being AAVE (African American Vernacular English) and typically used to refer to black women’s bodies.

Monterey Bay Aquarium sent out another tweet, apologizing for its choice of vernacular and explaining that its social media typically uses Internet slang

True Story: there are emergency evacuation procedures in place should an otter escape at the aquarium.

They are extremely intelligent and strong animals.

The woman who originally called them out for this is not black. She is the pastiest white woman who ever lived. But she's got a perm. fricking Rachael Dolezal wannabe.

I notice they have removed her from the article.

That otter is pretty stinking cute.

That being said, I kinda like the word thicc because the two C's look like buttcheeks.

I think that living out my days not speaking at all seems reasonable at this point.
