How many signatures could we get on a petition to kick Mizzou out the SEC
13 at least.

The author is mistaken
A lack of anything resembling leadership and cowardly decision making toppled the president and the chancellor.

This just goes to show what happens when the KKK runs rampant around your campus.

I am not remotely close to being radically liberal.
I am conservative when it comes to dealing with Islamists.
I believe in work, and don't believe that the government should pay people who can work IF there are jobs available at a living wage.
Nothing radical about those positions.
Nothing "radical" about reparations or a $15 per hour minimum wage.

Surrender and capitulation are always bad ideas.

Well, if "radical" doesn't apply to that stand, how about "dumb" and "poorly thought out?"

Jerry Brown, who has been brilliant in his financial management of California, didn't think it was dumb or poorly thought out?
Robert Reich, a preeminent labor/economics scholar and professor and former Secretary of Labor, disagrees.
In other words, nothing "dumb" about it.

Wrong is wrong even when 99% are wrong. The very idea of reparations is class envy and avarice on a large scale. And is clearly on the WRONG side of history. Reparations, if taken at all, should have been 125 years ago, when those actually treated as non-humans (like the unborn are today) were still alive.
Since you're in favor of reparations, YOU START PAYING voluntarily.

Should have handled it like Ohio St's president did. We don't listen to "demands" and you will be arrested and expelled.
Yes. But what made the situation harder for Mizzou was the football team. If OSU's football team pulled the same stunt that administration would probably take the protesters seriously.

As long as well-educated intellectuals support my position, I'm comfortable with it.

I hope they have to shut it down.

Fine. They may very well be well-educated and well-meaning. But turn the page. Do you think if a $15 minimum wage is mandated in the next couple of years that McDonald's,Publix, etc are going to go "Gosh,Jeepers. We really need to pay these people $15" without substantially raising their prices? Are you going to nod approvingly when you pay $7 for a Big Mac or $6 for a gallon of milk?

I don't eat at McDonald's. But, I would be glad to a reasonable increase in order to be sure that workers are reasonably compensated.
No one is going to go broke over the small increase in prices, if any, that would take place.
Per Robert Reich:
"A $15/hour minimum is unlikely to result in higher prices because most businesses directly affected by it are in intense competition for consumers, and will take the raise out of profits rather than raise their prices. But because the higher minimum will also attract more workers into the job market, employers will have more choice of whom to hire, and thereby have more reliable employees – resulting in lower turnover costs and higher productivity."

I don't support your politics, but I can support people for holding to their beliefs. I'm friends with plenty of liberals, and we enjoy in depth conversations.
That said, we have any pics? Because I might be willing to change my political views...

You're citing people who will not be affected by the $15 minimum wage. Wait until the backlash from small business owners having to fire employees and/or cut back on hours because they can't afford to pay it. Or when the price of goods and services increases due to the business having to spend more on employee salaries. Does anyone really think the businesses are going to take the brunt of this pay raise? They're simply going to pass it on to the consumer.
So that person that was so ready to make $15/hr so they could survive will now just have to pay more for everything bringing them right back to where they started. The answer isn't paying people more for menial jobs... it's getting those people to realize that working as a cashier at McDonald's isn't a solid career choice.

Do you really not get it or are you trolling? If the price of everything goes up then what's the point of people getting $15/hour?
