I didn't see Bocage mentioned in the article.

Jefferson Place.

Is not that the same thing? I've always heard them used synonymously.

Neighborhood is called Jefferson Place Bocage.

And this is why we can't ever have a loop in/around BR. If the dude is living next to the interstate he is already hearing the traffic noise. If everyone has an issue such as his, nothing will move forward,no progress will be made, and nothing will change except that the traffic problems will only worsen.

Why would anyone want a road built over their home or business that that love? It is the Politicians fault for waiting until now to invest in our infrastructure.

The interstate was there before those particular homes were built.

Eminent domain. Time to gtfo. Take the offer or receive below market rates later.

No it’s not. It is two separate neighborhoods. McCarroll is Jefferson Place which intersects with Jefferson Highway and goes to Boyce and all the rear streets. This was developed first.
Bocage is the first two streets to the right off McCarroll. Rienzi Blvd and Bocage Blvd. those houses were bigger and it was developed basically as the second filing. A later filing was extending Woodstock which runs parallel to Corporate Blvd.
Bocage Lakes is a separate neighborhood with entrance off Corporate.

I frikkin love my house but if it would solve a huge chunk of the traffic issues in this city I would gladly part ways with it for what my tax assessor thinks it's worth.

People want to live in Baton Rouge, then whine about Baton Rouge stuff. It's funny and I have no sympathy.

He lives in Jefferson Place, which was built long before Bocage and long before the interstate.

The sign at the front of the neighborhood in the median of McCarroll at Jefferson says "Jefferson Place - Bocage"

If he's on Leyland Court that's a reasonably newer street that wasn't part of the original filing.

The records I'm finding show the house being built in 1997 and it being sold in 2009. He knew what he was buying in to.

But you can't just rest your laurels on that and not do anything.

That’s because that’s how you get to both Jefferson Place and Bocage subdivisions. According to the plat maps and tax assessor they are definitely two separate subdivisions.
