You must not be a NOLA native. Vulgar satire has been a part of NOLA Carnival for the last 200 years.
My favorite was the beast Butler float during the civil war.
D'etat usually has some good satirical stuff too. I am sure the mayor will make an appearance there too.

De'tat's floats are usually the best in all of Carnival, IMO. This year they have soooooo much potential material between the monuments issue, Landrieu vs the firefighters union, a new governor, Vitter's failure and the presidential candidates. I'm expecting one of the best set of De'tat floats ever.

Another good one is Krewe D'Ta. Know a bunch of those guys,mainly LSU alumni that get so wasted that day they can barely stand up to ride. Floats are all satire
