Good reasons not to be a judge or to carry a judge.

Sucks for the family
Hope the shooter gets untreatable cluster headaches and has to live out his life in solitary confinement.

I immediately think of contentious custody/divorce cases.

Some people have said they think it could be linked to the case from the podcast Culpable, which is about a murder that happened several years ago. A young guy (early 20s) supposedly killed himself, but despite the lack of investigating that was done, there are people who believes he was killed. His parents took action and shook up politics in Meridian. But I am not sure how this would connect to that.

Meridian was a shithole when I last visited in 2005. Doubt it has improved.

You're too kind. I hope he gets worse than cluster headaches. Unless cluster headaches come while on death row.

Dated a girl in HS whose dad was a sitting criminal court judge. There were many a times they had police detail parked out front because of a contentious case.

You would be correct there sir.

It has, in fact, gone in the opposite direction from improvement over the past 15 years.

In 2013 two prosecutors and a prosecutor's wife were murdered in Kaufman County, Texas. (near Terrell)

Rumors immediately flew that it was the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang because the prosecutors were investigating them.

Turned out to be a nutty former lawyer/justice of the peace who was prosecuted for a piddly theft charge. He got the death penalty, and his wife got 40 years.

Some of the courthouse shooters have been involved in relatively minor matters. They were just fricking nuts.

We worry about the cartel, but it's usually the nuts who actually shoot.

I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. We have some pretty crooked arse judges in this country. Like the one who was fricking young girls on his docket to earn a get-out-of-jail-free card or the one in Florida who was jailing juveniles for profit.

I'm sure there are many that deserve to get Plauche'd
