There is no reason to worry about the cartels if you have no business with them and anyone who would go to court to testify against them would be dead before the trail begins.

Being a judge is tough. Like you said, there are people out there who are nuts and you never know what will make them snap.

saw a drug deal the one time I stopped for gas about 8 years ago

It was unusual for me, know it is everyday for some of you fellows.

I want to say it was a Chevron on the freeway for those of you interested.

I think you’re probably on the right track. Judge Smith is a chancellor, so he would preside over divorces. He’d also hear property and estate cases, among a few other things. Chancellors don’t hear criminal cases.
