am not sure for how long or if any repairs or weather/snow issues are limiting its access, but Boulder Canyon Trail goes along the side of that road (can curve away from road a little at times). It’s looks paved on satellite view, but I don’t know for sure.

Yes, it is paved . The canyon goes up from Boulder to Nederland. It’s a pretty major road. Not what you’d typically think of when you hear a canyon road which could be more remote. There’s a bike path following it that goes in & out of the mountains. I fly fish up there a lot in the summer. I am interested where they found her relative to the road or bike path.
So sad to see this happen in Boulder and to a TD member. Just terrible, heartbreaking situation.

I don’t know. She left her dorm at 9 pm on a Sunday night. I doubt she went hiking then.

No way to know. I went on late night walks all the time in college (something I don't do back home in Houston so much). And a group hike at night wasn't all that unusual if we drove out to the hills or the greenbelt.

Devastating news, whatever the circumstance. Can't imagine what her dad and friends and family are going through right now.

As someone with an 18 year old daughter in college, this hits hard. Praying for peace and comfort for the family of sweet Megan.

My kid does late night walks around his campus or just off campus. When he is home he wants to take the dog out walking late at night even when he could have taken dog out earlier multiple times before the coyotes start wandering around or temps drop.

But in this situation I wonder about the weather that night.

It’s a very sad situation.
