50 years ago maybe, but with both unwed births and abortion both as socially acceptable (and legal) as they are today, young women who find themselves pregnant typically don’t have that sense of desperation.

No to derail, but that’s 100% true. I hire a bunch of young entry level females and 75% of them are single with young kids. I don’t think I’m exaggerating either when I say 75%. It’s unreal and causing them all kids of problems though.

Jesus, what an awful troll or conspiracy.
Tend to agree with the above comments, it seems more likely that it was a possible suicide than foul play based off the information we have right now. Seems like more trouble to stage a murder in such a visible way than to just do it in secret. Not that its not possible but just seems not as likely.
I'm praying for this family. Beautiful young lady who had so much more to look forward to in life.

er father made an interesting statement, though.
quote:
Gauthier said what kept him going was the thought of his daughter. He said, “Just knowing that that’s my little girl out there somewhere.” He let one message to parents all around. “My advice to parents is to pay attention to your kids. Read the signs. If you’ve been through certain things that they haven’t paid attention to those and trust yourself, and look into it, look into your kids.”
I just went back and noticed this post. That is a really weird comment for her father to make at this time.
Not reading into it too much or insinuating anything, but that is an odd comment.
Makes you wonder.

Makes you wonder what? She jumped and still hasn’t been found. She had “issues” he was unaware of or about which he didn’t know were so serious.
Sounds like the typical statement a grieving, distraught parent would say regarding his missing child who he realizes had some personal problems he now wishes he’d have tried to do more for.

The one thing I’ve learned through the unfortunate experience of friends dying by suicide is that many times they leave zero warnings. That is probably why it is so incredibly traumatic for the family because you just simply are left with the shocking removal of a loved one from your life

And then you start to blame yourself because it’s so devastating. Or you at least start questioning what you could’ve done differently to avoid it.
I don’t think the dad’s statement is cryptic. It’s just the thoughts of a distraught father.

How high is that bridge over the water ?
Would impact alone kill you or would you be in the middle of the river in the dark thinking I'm Fuu#$d now for sure ?
I've read that the middle of the river water is freezing too

anyone see something on FB about cameras catching her car driving both ways on the bridge minutes before her car being hit?

Should you survive the jump, you’re likely unconscious and drown. If not, the River is treacherous with undercurrents, whirlpools, and all forms of debris that will make your survival very unlikely. But usually the fall alone kills you.

Yeah I saw an iceberg in the middle this morning. Quit repeating unproven rumors, geez!

Why haven’t they grilled the boyfriend? If he’s not talking then he probably knows something.

Anywhere there is current in a river, it’s colder, and the chance of hypothermia at quicker rates, but doubt that’s much of a factor, here.

Amazing how the newspaper immediately kicked this story to the back page.

I get the feeling the family wants it that way, being that it seems to be a suicide.
I imagine all of this has been taken care of out of the public eye.

I don't think it is an odd comment. I just think it is a dad who thinks it was a suicide and who is recounting events that he thinks should have clued him in to her mental state. He's warning other parents to pay really close attention. If, however, someone is clinically depressed to the point where suicide is the logical option to make the pain stop, then that person will do all sorts of things to hide their plans and keep those who might interfere from interfering.

They have said foul play was not involved so it’s not that hard. I would imagine the people over the case have a little more information than Lester Earl of Tigerdroppings
