Rolling Stone published the article first. I posted it a bunch of pages back.

The friend's name is Tracestin Shepherd that said he was the one fighting with his g/f.

Na dude, I'm right there with you. Its surreal seeing this degree of delusion, and disregard for actual facts and truth. Its actually fascinating, but also troubling that so many people are this fricking dumb and unable to think freely and critically. Its hard to believe some of the shite I've read over the course of this whole thing. The blatant racism, virtue-signaling, and total apathy towards young men's lives who are almost certainly innocent is disgusting.

Admittedly, when I first heard of this situation. I thought it potentially could have been a thing, where he and his friends were horse-playing around and Nolan ended up accidentally drowning. And instead of going to the police, they freaked out and ran away. I've seen this exact type of story happen in the news before.
Also, I have a coworker whose daughter almost drowned. She was at the lake with friends. She was pushed in and she couldn't swim. She was saved and required CPR, but thankfully she survived.

If anything nefarious happened at all. It would more than likely be much closer to this, and less so of some of the ridiculous conspiracies I have heard.

Nothing about this story has seemed nefarious at all to me. I’ve heard of many drownings over the years and the story is usually a couple of sentences in the paper.

These are sickening lies, and people like Sharpton and Crump are the tip of this spear. I'm not sure what the family thought they were getting when they invited these vipers into their home.

I imagine that Crump and sharpton are experts off-camera at selling themselves as helping the family. It is pro bono, we just want to help get answers, we will help you with the media

They are vultures looking to strip grieving parents of their agency and use it to their own personal gain

It’s very sad that a good number of people are hoping that this situation is a white on black murder.

Its sad that a generation of kids who dgaf about race and genuinely love each other are probably going to start avoiding the opposite race for the rest of their lives over this stupidity. One for fear of being wrongfully accused by race pimps and the other for fear of being lynched by the white devil.

And we wonder why we never make progress.

Not only are they hoping-they are pushing conspiracy theories, straight up lying, shouting down anyone who questions if there was even a crime committed, and calling eye witnesses liars if it doesn't fit the narrative that there was a racist murder. frick these people. All of them.

Doesn't Sharpton still owe the wrongly accused policemen in the Tawana Bradley poop tossing case money. (Yes, I probably got the bit**'s name wrong, WGAF)

It was with a guy. He also says the party was June 27th.

"That's me yelling. ... there was no talk about a phone in that video," but instead, Shepherd said, he was telling both friend Jayvon Williams, and a family member, who were both restraining him, to let him off the boat so he could continue the fight. "Nolan wasn't on the island" at that time, he claimed.

Shepherd also said that a photo that Crump shared on his Instagram, which supposedly shows Wells at a pool party, was not from July 5, as the caption claims. He said the party took place on June 27 in nearby Pass Christian, Mississippi.

Yea, you're exactly right. I've noticed a lot of racial tension around Little Rock lately in my day to day life and this is from adults in person, not social media. I've got to where I try to avoid them altogether. Not b/c I don't like them but I feel like they hate me.

This is repeated non-stop like it's some kind of evidence. This wasn't a war and they were not in a foxhole.

Everyone who has gone out drinking with friends has left someone behind, because they hooked up with a girl, wanted to go to a different bar/place, wanted to stay out later, etc. This is such a dumb talking point.

Exactly. That was the #1 talking point initially . As long as one boat was left out there he was going to get a ride back, even if he thought the girl was going to bring him back but she ended up not wanting to get with him at all.

Yep, and the fact that the national media in multiple outlets has latched onto this is just more proof of how badly they want to continue to divide us racially. I mean, do you objectively think that this story has enough validity to reach Good Morning America? Give us all a break.

Tracestin Shepherd is a guy.

What's your point?

I agree. I think what makes this story atypical of most drownings is the fact that no one actually saw him drown. No one specifically saw him go into the water and not come out. And while I do agree that is odd. It's also not impossible either. The ocean is huge. It's not hard to imagine a scenario where Nolan snuck away for some peace and quiet from all the wild partying going on. Found a nice spot in the water enjoying the sun and sea. Only to be swept away with nobody around to save him.

And then on the other end, you will have black kids who are going to be hesitant to make friends with white kids, because they're scared they are going to get murdered. It's very sad.

I'm sure Crump and his team are scrambling to issue a retraction statement

On a serious note though, it will be interesting to see what the family does here. If they are serious about "finding answers" about what led to his death, they would come out and quash the false narrative that he was alive and at a party on the night of July 4th. Any false narrative is going to distract investigators from getting to the bottom of what occurred during the day on July 4th. Let's see what the family does. If they don't come out and quash the alternate theory kicked up by Crump and others, then it becomes clear that they are not interested in actual answers and are only interested in pushing a narrative.

Unfortunately this won’t matter. They’re just going to say he is lying to cover for the white kids and it’s part of the cover up and “doesn’t make sense”.

I would bet my house on it.

Jesus Christ himself could return to earth and have a presser explaining that Wells drowned, and it was simply a tragic accident, and they still would refuse to believe it. They would call Jesus a liar, and a shill. That is how bad they want this to be a racist murder.

He said he is upset by the suggestion from Crump that race may have played a role in Wells' death. As a result, he said, he and his friends have become targets. "They're trying to spin a narrative that's not there," he said. "He's wrong."

"I understand [Wells'] parents are grieving and I really think he's taken a little bit of advantage of that. And I don't like that. I really don't because they're vulnerable," he said.

Shepherd said he wants "everybody just to relax and let everybody mourn the loss of Nolan. And let us remember him as the sweet guy he was and not something we're scared of because of the trauma we've had," he said. "If Ben Crump is doing his own investigation, let him do it. And then let the sheriff's office conclude with their investigation and figure out what the facts are on their end. Let us all just know the truth instead of jumping to two conclusions about things."

from the attached article

And pretty much what many of us have been saying on this board and none of us were there but we've all been kids out partying on the weekend with friends.

Not a tinge of racism by anyone other than those trying to profit financially or social media points from the young mans death

That's what is most disgusting about this , All those trying to profit for themselves from this tragedy
