Don't know who Evan Noel is to Wells, only that he is from BSL which is the opposite end of the Gulf Coast from Ocean Springs.

Am I the only one that thinks this is one of the most bat shite reactions to a story they’ve ever seen? Like at least with Floyd there was a video that stirred people up, and the other BLM stuff involved cops too so it fit more neatly into a misguided popular narrative.

Nope.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a reaction that’s as batshit insane and this one is. It’s making my brain bleed.
Maybe someone killed him, maybe he drowned. Who knows. We’ll probably have a better idea in a few weeks I’d imagine. Phone data, interviews, autopsy, other evidence will almost certainly crush these dumbass theories. Not like that will mean anything to them though, because it will just be some huge cover up.
That being said, the way people are claiming it happened would make for one hell of a Netflix documentary.

People commenting on that post are certain that the pic was from July 4 because that one boy has “USA” on his chest, as if it weren’t possible that the photo was from sometime in the 3 weeks prior with USA fandom at a fever pitch with the World Cup going on.

I was in a conversation with a black woman who over and over again said she doesn’t trust the police. Yet, stood her ground saying hiring an attorney makes them guilty and she’d never allow her son to hire an attorney and that they would speak to the police.
I simply asked, so you don’t trust the police whatsoever but you’d put your son in the position of no control over a conversation with the police and possibly put him in jeopardy because you think you’re guilty because you hired an attorney?

I may not have all the details accurate, it's been a while since I read it. But from my understanding, he and other students would keep their shoes or other items stored in the gym inside of the wrestling mats. I'm not really sure what was so different about this instance compared to other times. But while trying to retrieve his shoes at the bottom of the mat, he got stuck and was unable to get himself out. He lied upside down in the mat for God knows how long until he passed. Video surveillance footage was checked, there was no one else in there but him. There were 2 different boys who were suspected to be involved, but both of them had alibis that were confirmed.
Tragic story and an absolutely shitty shitty way to go out. The headline was confusing too, because most people can't fathom willingly jumping inside of a wrestling mat. I was confused too. But apparently, it's a thing.

I think people really overestimate people. Has there been planned premeditated murders? Yes. Has there been instances where people have lied about their knowledge of a serious crime? Yes.
But I would bet an endless amount of money there hasn't been a single time ever where 30+ people are all in on a single murder plot. Have you ever tried to coordinate an event with that many people? That's stressful. You have to coordinate a single story with that many people. Ensure everyone is on the same page at all times. Multiple people give statements to the police, yet no one cracks. Law and Order has had some ridiculous plotlines before, yet I don't know if they've ever had something as ridiculous as this.
In order for that many people to want a single person dead. To where they all willingly take part in and risk their freedom to ensure they end up dead is a big deal. That person would have to be a pretty big deal who either hurt a lot of people, or the co-conspirators would profit majorly from this one person being dead. Yet in this instance, the criminal masterminds are a bunch of drunk high school/college kids. And the one person they all want dead is Nolan Wells. A random 18-year-old black kid with a clean record from a middle-class family.

Na dude, I'm right there with you. Its surreal seeing this degree of delusion, and disregard for actual facts and truth. Its actually fascinating, but also troubling that so many people are this fricking dumb and unable to think freely and critically. Its hard to believe some of the shite I've read over the course of this whole thing. The blatant racism, virtue-signaling, and total apathy towards young men's lives who are almost certainly innocent is disgusting.
