maybe they should actually check to see how many blondes and red heads there are in india before crying about lack of diversity

The only reason mainly SE Asians (Chinese, Japanese, etc.) are considered Asians and not middle eastern people or Indians is because most of the immigration used to be from those SE Asian countries.
If you go to some countries (like the U.K.), Asians mainly refer to Indians, Pakistanis, ME etc. not SE Asian because there’s more of the former group there.
Now for purposes of census, ID (like driver’s license), or getting into something like Med School (Asians have higher standards) everyone from the Asian continent is considered Asian. It’s stupid it’s considered a race.
