As a fire/medic I hope they understand half of what we do is solely b/c of trained law enforcement. Working wrecks safely, we don’t go in to shootings, stabbings, fights, domestic disputes, attempted suicide, thoughts of suicide, or overdoses w/o police clearing it for us. Will be interesting how this impacts those first responders
ETA: Not only that, many times cops are doing cpr prior to our arrival. Had a cop save a guy’s leg, probably life a few shifts ago by tying a tourniquet after being stabbed

Barry Clegg, chairman of the Charter Commission, has said the process to implement change so quickly after Floyd's death may not be the best step forward.
“As I understand it, they are saying, ‘We are going to have this new department. We don’t know what it’s going to look like yet. We won’t implement this for a year, we’ll figure it out,’” Clegg said. “For myself anyway, I would prefer that we figured it out first, and then voted on it.”
sounds a lot like what this woman

It also suggests setting up a division of licensed peace officers, who would answer to the department's director.
That my favorite part.
“We will probably hire a few legitimate police officers, but they will have to answer to the unqualified loon we appoint to oversee our holistic restorative justice approach to public safety.”
In actuality, those real cops will probably only be used to provide security to the mayor and council members.

Upon the original establishment of a city police force, what exactly would a charter say?
I doubt it sounds much different than what is proposed because for damn sure it doesn’t say “ We establish this department of police to attack minorities “

restorative justice approaches
Have any of y’all read up on this bullshite? It calls for offenders and victims to meet and talk about how the crime made them feel and how they can work together to atone and shite. Some thug sticks a gun in my face and robs me and they want me to sit down with him and talk about feelings? Nah. I’m good.

Just out of curiosity, who will identify the offender and ask them politely to attend such a meeting?

He is just an excuse. If it wasn't him, it would be someone else.

I cant wait to see their statistics on how much crime "drops" when they have nobody around to make any arrests in that future dump of a city.

Good.
Hopefully it gets absolutely terrible up there (and it will). Ignorant fools.

Wait, you actually think they are going to report "crimes". Nothing is a crime to these people and if it is somehow they don't have the balls to say anything about it because they might be racist.
It's a clown show that we will never know the true horrors that will occur.

If I'm the mob, I'm considering Minneapolis.
