From my understanding, Christian meditative practices require focusing on Christ not nothing.

I think Christ himself wouldn’t mind it if his followers indulged in clearing their minds and enjoying tranquility.

Compare the traditionally Buddhist nations to the traditionally Christian ones right now

I don't recall anything from the teachings of Christ, where he said enjoy tranquility. I'm pretty sure the message was more along the lines of there is not tranquility on Earth but only in heaven.

Mindfulness lets you focus on present and not worry about past or future. It is a great tool to be attentive to what's happening now. It is good for the kids. It has nothing to do with Religion.

It helps you deal with anxiety and enjoy the present

Myanmar - Civil War
Sri Lanka - Unmitigated disaster
Thailand - I guess pleasant for the hedonist westerners but I would not want to be Thai

I agree with all of this. Everyone needs quiet time of reflection, and few are able to get it; even fewer even recognize that they need it.

Mindfulness is to Buddhism as Praying the Rosary is to Catholics.

Mindfulness can literally just mean practicing breathwork to help discpline your mind and control your body's imbalance between sympathetic and parasympathetic modes, as most people suffer from a host of issues frm spending all their time in anxious/fight or flight modes. You have an entire generation of dumbass kids raised on TikTok with bullhsit ADD diagnoses, and you're complaining that kids are being taught to sit still and breathe. Move along old man, your type has held us back long enough.

There is a point to their prayer. Not knocking it. And I don't know any schools pushing Islamic prayer, and if they were, much of society would be up in arms.

I practice mindfulness every day.

It helps me focus on work, be present in my kids lives, etc.

In an age where it’s easy ti get pulled in 17 different directions… it’s a great tool to compartmentalize and focus on what is truly important… and not let the mundane get me worked up.

This is a weird rant

So, unless you have Christ first in your mind at literally ALL times (e.g. taking a dump, blowing your nose, etc.), you are a heretic?

Last thing I'll say since we're all on the same page except for OP, but meditative religious practices across the board rely on similar breath cadences that help put the participant in parasympathetic state.

And yet, the things you and this board complain about do not happen in Buddhist nations. Buddhism is an anti-narcissism in an age of ultra-narcissism.

Also, lol at you listing the worst cases and Thailand being one of them.

I'm not even Buddhist, nor do I have any interest in it whatsoever, but I don't find it inherently incompatible with Christianity in its essence. Christianity itself has become so distorted, so corrupted over the last two thousand years that it's unrecognizable to the Gospels.

The world would do well to find the Jesus sort of Christianity and less of the Paul-Christianity

Mindfulness is to praying what Modern Yoga is to traditional, religious yoga.

That soccer mom getting bendy while Brayln is a school isn’t practicing religion anymore than the kid at school take a moment to just fricking breathe is praying.

You truly don’t know what you’re talking about.

It has undeniable cognitive benefits to the point of "curing" anxiety or concentration problems. Also, can increase deep and rem sleep where 95% of hgh is produced.

The OP is next level dumbass
