Pretty important that we know what the degrees are in. Lots of millennials get useless degrees and then complain they can't find a job and have student loan debt.
it's not really important when you're comparing it to people who don't have a degree

Again, does this compare apples to apples? In other words, are millennials who do the same job, with the same degree and experience making 20% less?
Seems like the ole "women make less than men" fallacy.
are you assuming there are jobs millenials aren't doing or something?

Any data to back that up? Thanks

An hourly job asking for a Master's? What's the job?

Companies don't want to train anymore. Here's your entry-level salary to go with that graduate degree.

70s to the early 80s was a shitshow. High unemployment, inflation, extremely high interest rates. Manufacturing died, hundreds of thousands lost jobs
Your revisionist history is terribly wrong.
you're not wrong, but that was a long period of slowing growth and stagflation. it was the beginning of the end of the post-WW2 boom. then there wasn't another major , long-term meltdown until 2008. sure there were a few valleys, but they were regular recessions. 2008 was almost the great depression
the OTHER major issue is the ending of the period you cited is basically the end of economic power for non-urban areas. after that point the rural/small town economy began to slide and it's almost dead today. all of the opportunity moved to cities and the coasts. all those factories people in the 70s/80s relied on have closed and nothing replaced them.
2008 accelerated this incredibly because the government plans to save the economy basically only injected money in major urban areas
so yes there were bad periods for Boomers, but nothing like the post-2008 economy. now, just to get into entry level work, you need an expensive degree and live in an expensive city. and the ability to advance has been neutered b/c boomers won't retire (so Gen X can't move into their top-level and open up those middle management roles for older millennial)

Don't worry. We were told millennials are just going to move straight into the corner offices because numbers.

if true lmao. what a worthless arse generation. 70% of boomers don't even have 100k in retirement.
I can't wait to tell all my zoomer friends that. we can't stand boomers with a passion
I’m guessing your parents were boomers? To bad the old man didn’t pull out.

the thing about STEM is that it's not like every STEM major is that economically productive on its own
you go tell me all the economic opportunities you have with a biology degree
here is the thing. did boomers have a MUCH easier time? yes. are they stalling progress by everyone younger b/c of how shitty they handled their economy and money? yes. are millennials doing anything to fix the problem? no. are many millenials just promoting the same cycle that's dooming them? yes.
it can go both ways

Yep, that’s another issue.
Entry level jobs are requesting or requiring insane degrees or insane prior job history.
An entry level job shouldn’t require a masters degree or require multiple yeas of previous job history.
That kinda defeats the purpose of being “entry level”.

These charts are suspicious.
What are these enormous "Non-Financial Assets" that young people have, but its not their primary residence?
Is this the $60,000 Jeep pickup trucks in their front yard?
Or are they counting their Liberal Arts Starbucks degrees as Non-Financial Assets?
