70s to the early 80s was a shitshow. High unemployment, inflation, extremely high interest rates. Manufacturing died, hundreds of thousands lost jobs
Your revisionist history is terribly wrong.

So, in short, boomers benefited off the success of their parents by getting jobs in a booming post war economy with no education, and have since hoarded more and more of their money, creating one of the biggest wealth gaps observed in modern history.
Have US baby boomers had it easier than any other generation in the history of the world?
You aren't supposed to notice or care about what the boomers did. Download another app.

Milennials graduate with the highest pct of STEM degrees for any generation ever
Sweet talking point though
And the millennials I know with them are doing just fine and don’t sit around complaining. Most are making much more than their parents at similar ages.

This period of our history will be known as the age of the skimmers, people who produce nothing will benefit the most.

Weren’t boomers making $10/hr at the plant while being able to afford 2 Catholic school tuitions, a mortgage and 2 car notes when they were 30.

No we have been stealing from the government forever so people your age could get fricked up the arse with debt.
The plan is really coming together!!!

Please.
Get an education that will lead to employment. Degrees to “follow your passion” was a dumb idea. Stop blaming everyone and get to work.

To be fair, many young people were strong-armed (if not forced) by their parents to go to college. There wasn't a real emphasis on why they needed to go or what they needed to study. Just that there was no option to say no. Had they not been forced to go, they could have entered the workforce and now been much farther ahead than they currently are.
For the few in my friends circle that were pushed into certain majors (female), they had never displayed a strong proficiency in math or science - yet their parents were trying to force them to be medical professionals, dentists, etc. They bombed the courses semester after semester because they aren't math/science-minded.. And ultimately had to graduate in whatever the quickest and easiest way out was, just to stop the tuition bleed and find a job. Then when they went job seeking, they had no background or experience, plus a crappy degree, so they had to sit at the front desk somewhere making maybe $30k.
I don't think there's something wrong with going to school for something that isn't a complete joke and can be used in a smart way to get an okay job. I do, however, laugh at the ridiculous majors like Theatre or Performing Arts, Fashion Design, etc.

Boomers received humanities/liberal arts degrees at a higher rate than any other generation.

Millennials are weak and lazy so this isnt surprising
Posted on 11/5/19 at 11:27 pm to hubertcumberdale
Lies, damned lies, and statistics!
I am surprised that millennials only make 20% less. I graduated college 22 years ago. All of my best friends from college are engineers, doctors, dentists, lawyers, business owners, nurses, etc. Now the most popular degrees are nursing, psychology, criminal justice, communications, etc.
My starting salary 22 years ago is more than the mid-career salaries of those occupations today.
A master's degree in library science and working at Starbucks is not the fault of boomers or Gen X. With less focus on STEM degrees and more Diversity and Community Organizer degrees, good luck closing that wealth gap, millennials.

I said I graduated from college 22 years ago. That puts me in my early 40s. I can tell you don't have a STEM degree since you cannot even add or reason.
