We travel. I enjoy lots of golf.

I’ve had family with 2nd vacation homes and timeshares. Why go through the trouble when you can rent a nice place wherever you want.

I have family with boats so don’t need one, or the trouble and expense.

Those are the only things we’ve seriously considered but we’re pretty simple folks.

I’ve been biking for 20+ years but over the last 10 I’ve done more vacay biking. Went to BSL and biked the beach road toward Waveland. Absolutely awesome!

I am currently searching for an outdoor bar, perhaps made out of reclaimed wood, to use for the tiki bar I am setting up at one end of my porch overlooking my pool.

We had one of those, but now we're back to tent camping with a blow-up queen mattress.
The AC in the popup was nice, but we don't camp in Louisiana summers much.
In the winter, we use a Big Buddy heater to keep the tent warm.

See I've been tent camping too much and just want something cheap off the ground with A/C and heat. I live in north Georgia so you can camp almost year round with the exception of July/August.

Are you close to a waterway? A boat used often is relatively cheap maintenance wise. A boat only used twice a year is relatively expensive. It will need maintenance so that expense divided by 20-30 outings is cheap compared to that expense divided by 2 outings. And, like anything with an engine, frequent use is better than sitting for long periods.

At some point you get to an age where you wander around Home Depot and Lowe’s when they open on Saturday mornings and randomly buy shite.

Tell me about it, but our's is J&M or Sam's bait and tackle......each trip was running 300-600 bucks. Now we have an agreement that we can only add 100 bucks to the shopping list

Didn’t read close enough.

Buy land or a center console.

Share what toys you bought. I am doing research on cost of boat with maintenance right now. I’m having the old man itch and wondering if you guys really love what you purchased

I have had several boats and I mean this with all seriousness, If you cannot put 1/3rd of the coast down in cash you are looking at the wrong boat.

Whatever you factor as maint. and usage costs, double it.

Having a smaller boat that you are financially comfortable with is infinitely more gratifying that have a larger boat that you are stretched thin on and you don't use as much as you think you HAVE to.

We just seemed to bring a lot of extra junk when we had the camper. Hauling the camper everywhere was never fun. Maintenance costs on the camper were also a pain. Something was always breaking. With the tent, it's simple - we just grab a few duffle bags of clothes, the tent, and an ice chest for food.

Please report on what you find are the 2 best days as a boat owner.

I don’t know how to pick just two but I do enjoy a peaceful evening boat ride with just my two dogs, tunes, and beer after a stressful day at the hospital and/or clinic.
