Share what toys you bought. I am doing research on cost of boat with maintenance right now. I’m having the old man itch and wondering if you guys really love what you purchased

Please report on what you find are the 2 best days as a boat owner.

I just got a new mountain bike. Didn't cost as much as a boat.

Get a reel mower and keep a nice lawn. Far more rewarding than a just for the hell of it “toy”.

Have a pool?
Nice patio?
Outdoor kitchen?
All better than a “toy”.

But hey, if you’ve got the liquidity, have at it.

At some point you get to an age where you wander around Home Depot and Lowe’s when they open on Saturday mornings and randomly buy shite.

I do need an air compressor, I do need a shop vac, I do need a table saw, I do need another grill, etc.

I bought an inshore fishing boat. The older I get, the more of a pain in the arse it seems to drive 4-6 hours round trip to the Louisiana coast to go fishing.

I'm liking a cruising boat lately - even thinking about a party barge. We launch at Fred's and cruise the Amite out to the lake and back with stops at a restaurant or bar. It's a good, half-day relaxing trip.

A good mountain bike. I use it often except during the summer. Too hot.

geeez, tough answer and it depends on your hobbies

i have a stable of racing bicycles i need to sell now that i'm not doing competitive racing anymore

a little e30 convertible to raise hell in with the wife on the weekends

as for boat, we have a small 4 acre pond so a john boat would fit the bill

i am an 80s nerd so i have 2 multi-arcade game cabinet builds and a virtual pinball machine i tinker with

of course you can never have enough firearms and ammo..

yep to the person who mentioned home depot..i gotta stop going and buying 'one more tool i have to have'

we just did a major house renovation so one-offs like appliances, security camera setups, etc. were a decent expense...

..but the best bet would be to save your money & get a second house on a lake thats my next 'toy' once we can afford it.

We had one of those, but now we're back to tent camping with a blow-up queen mattress.
The AC in the popup was nice, but we don't camp in Louisiana summers much.
In the winter, we use a Big Buddy heater to keep the tent warm.

Does 34 count as middle age?

I have a pontoon boat and it cost $2500 year to get it lake ready and have a new sound system put in. $200 on gas so far this summer. Oh and the boat lift broke on the 4th of July. Cottonwasking and I were able to get the boat off by further f**king up the boat lift. I am still trying to get someone to come fix the boat lift and that will probably cost an arm and leg to fix. Much easier and cheaper to find a friend with a boat.

Nothing. I bought an iPod once. I spend it on travel. Not a “ thing” guy- I’m more of an experience guy. Would consider a 4 wheeler or jet ski or something like that if the circumstances were right.
