I just imagine that session going like the suggestion box episode on The Office

I would have written "2 black people assumed my parents bought me my new truck before they asked if I had any spare change. Not all white people have enough money to give out"

I would have simply wrote --

I think I would have written "Just because I'm white, people assume I belong to a country club. Well, I don't. My mom and dad do and I get a family discount when I play golf there."

to be fair, it sounds more interesting than "in-situ micro mechanical testing of coating/substrate interfacial regions"

Dude, that sounds fricking miserable. I'm so sorry you have to endure that

Microaggression and unconscious bias training

I find the whole concept of microaggressions nonsensical. If the aggression is so small as to be imperceptible by the person doing it (as well as unintentional), then it's not an aggression at all.
The person considering it an aggression is just playing the victim for selfish reasons.

Sorry I don't do micro-aggression. All I have is MACRO-aggression.

This diversity director is talking about how they need more diversity for this conference in her concluding remarks. "Not enough diversity in the talks, this isn't just a lsu/latech conference". Look at those asian names on the front page of the conference. "We lost the women of color here and there was a racism/gender issue on one of the slides for a talk."

Looks like they need a more diverse crowd of instructors by looking at the names on that schedule.

She was basically saying that southern/grambling deserved to have more speakers than lsu/tech to diversify the conference
Apparently they only had black/hispanic women on the board last year so they added one black gentleman this year to add more diversity.

So the diversity director was complaining that she didn't do her job and bring in more diversity and it's someone else's fault. Can't say I'm surprised.
