Eh, maybe in that district but I doubt it would carry that much weight. He's got bigger fish to fry so avoiding this potential uproar is a no-brainer.

He would curry favor with moderate republicans. The folks in the northern portion of the parish will vote black in the primary but ultimately for JBE in the runoff. He can win some EBR votes by going against these crazy 4.
