Angry? Not likely. I'll be up in Aurora in the spring making three times the money this crapshoot will pay.

This job in Louisiana will be union. Make no mistake. They'll just take any Yahoo in on book 4. Non union has no chance in hell of manning it.

They're going to have to make all OT double time and put some crazy per diem/incentives to get bodies there. The scale there is $28.95. That's a joke.

There's just to much work with better pay and conditions all over the US right now for this to be any kinda draw.

They're going to scrape the bottom of the barrel. It's going to be a first class clusterfrick.

Mortenson sucks as far as them being up your arse on every little BS thing (DON'T WALK TO THE SHITTER WITHOUT YOUR GLOVES ON!!), but they at least provide decent conditions.

Turner? LMAO, complete garbage. Wage slaves

Black Box will have the data/coms. They don't know their head from a hole in the ground, but they're owned by Meta, so you get a little insulation from the GC's bs. Mortenson can't frick with them

This is such a HUGE opportunity for those who are have entrepreneurial desires. There will be thousands of construction workers working probably 2 years to build the place. The closest hotels are off Garrett Road by PecanLand mall. Those will be booked solid. Also there is no gas stations or food except for Rayville. That's 10 min away. If someone had a food truck or two they could make bank serving the construction workers.

Largest in the world my arse. The half campus Meta just spent over 5 years building in DeKalb, Illinois is larger than that one coming to Louisiana.

The plans for the LA site is 4x what's currently in IL.

You sound bitter.

The first half in DeKalb they just completed on 250 acres is 2.3 million sq ft

The one in Louisiana is going to be 4 million sq ft.

2.3 x 2 = 4.6

So no, it's not even double the one in Illinois.

You sound like you suck at math.

But, here's the kicker...

Meta has another 250 acres adjacent to the one they just turned on in DeKalb. They've started moving the dirt on it. It's going to man up in late 25/early 26, and is going to more than double what they already have there.

And they're paying, right now, $58 on the check and $21.79 on the retirement. And the retirement pyramids, so if you're working ot, the retirement is time and a half as well. The amount the contractors pay on the retirement is 3/4 what they pay on the check in 446.

And they just got a $30 raise over 5 years.

Where do you think anyone with any sense is going to work? Lol

So yeah, the one in DeKalb is going to be larger than the one in Louisiana when all is said and done.

Not to mention all the other data centers that are coming to that part of Illinois and southern Wisconsin, compared to Louisiana. An insane amount of growth. I'll retire there, most likely.

Not bitter. Just know what I'm talking about

So, uh, why don't you start a thread about the other Meta data center in Illinois and be a pathetic bitch in that one. We don't need your negative energy. Or your Aids.

If by dying you mean growing 3% over the last year to 3.07 billion active users, LMAO.

Instagram is humming right along as well.

The lies you tell yourselves are hilarious.

I log in every few weeks and wade through the rage bait to see if anybody was born, died, married or divorced. I guess that makes me an active user. I look at Instagram a little more often because a few accounts I follow are marginally entertaining.

CST/Tri Shitty will be the main electrical contractor in this job. They're hit or miss as far as working conditions. Depends on who's running the job.

But being as so many workers in Louisiana are used to lousy conditions, and are so stuck in the plantation mentality, and how Tri Shitty already owns 446, yeah, good luck manning it with anybody worth a damn.

Better ad 10 bucks to the base scale and some serious per diem to get any quality help in that hot humid shite hole.

Your bitching is incoherent, but I don’t think that is going to be a Meta data center.

Facebook is dying - It's old people and people from other countries (which sucks for ad revenue)

Their kingpin is Whatsapp with 2.95 billion daily active users - That's where their solid growth is coming from

Instagram is indeed popular, but Facebook is dying a very slow death.

Tigerdroppings has how many users?

Total Number of Registered Users: 284,689 with 890 Currently active users. See where I am going with this Mr. Think You Know It All? It's the exact same thing with Facebook.

When was the last time you saw a company promoting their "Follow Us on Facebook" slogan? It's not out there because it is now "Follow Us on X"

Why be on a Louisiana themed website and talk shite about the state?

For what gain?

If you hate the region and the people so much, maybe do not partake in the discussions here ?
