Brother I don't know you but I hope you reach out for help. We are all in your corner. We have been down and felt like there was no hope but I promise you there is There are countless people that want you to pull out of the rut you are in, I promise.

When I was down in my dark days a few years ago I pulled my bible out. Honestly didn't know where to begin. I just started reading. Now I have it in my bag that I bring to work every day. It's always with me. That and talking with a counselor helped more than I can put into words. You wont know it but there will come a day that you look back and are thankful you asked for help.

Last year, when I found out my wife was cheating and left me, I spent many nights holding that .45 in my hand trying to think of a reason not to put that barrel in my mouth. Thinking about my kids kept me from doing it.

3 of mine are adults (22-33) and my 12 year old son. There was no scenario I could come up with that wouldn’t ruin their lives. I finally made the decision to suck it up and stop being selfish.

Good luck to you. I hope you get help. Merry Christmas.

From an older guy to a younger guy..believe me, all things pass including your bad decisions. Learn from them and don't repeat...things will turn around...Peace.

Man, if you don’t want to respond on here that’s okay, but email me and let me know you are okay. Also myself and other posters want to help you give your family a good Christmas and give you hand during this rough patch.
We’ve got food, gifts and a little extra for you, but we’ve got no clue where to send it. Just reach out man, there’s no need to feel embarrassed or ashamed. We all get low sometimes and have bad thoughts. No one is gonna hold it against you. The important thing is you reached out.

So just reach out a little farther and contact one of us, we really do want to help but Christmas is closing in. Sooner the better and I know you want to be able to see that big beautiful smile on your daughter’s face.

Not a handout. Many just want to do something nice to make others smile this Christmas season!!

And yes — you will survive! But let those who want to help take a load of help you!!

Man, it’s not a handout. It’s not charity.

It’s the OT. We’re rotten bastards who like to help now and again to make up for our rotten bastardism.

Please, a lot LOT of us have lost people to suicide, or almost lost ourselves.
This is an affirmation of life. This is us trying to show you how many people care, that it isn’t so bad and gets better. When you spoke about your little girl it spoke to our hearts.

Let us do this. Don’t feel any shame, we just want to make a merry Christmas for someone.
If not for you then for her. What kid doesn’t like opening extra presents?

Hell, just call or email one of these jack legs and talk about titties and beer for a bit. See where that takes you. They probably have a yacht they are about to launch to some Caribbean island full of rum and more poor decisions and you'll catch yourself an invite. You never know. Or, they'll just be a regular dude trying to make it the best they can, just like you. Either way, it'll be a help.

Just wanted to say thank you to the posters in this thread. For every poster that has shared dealing with similar things there are a handful of lurkers going through it as well. Even the tiniest bit of help this thread may have offered might mean the world to a reader or their families. So, thank you to all of you.

To the OP, like many have said, good luck and keep your chin up. I know its tough to see past the "theyll be better off with out me" thoughts but if you have a kid telling you unprompted that they love you than that is absolutely not the case. Kids need their parents and with the way the world is now, they might need us more than ever.

Not to trivialize this in any way but that is literally the voice of the devil. Do not listen to it. Your life has more meaning and purpose than you can see right now. Best of luck as you fight through this.

Take a breath...forgive yourself...find someone you trust to talk through this...be as forgiving of yourself and you are of others...prayers your way, my friend...

Make sure you check in on Saturday morning. We have a longstanding tradition of making up a Blue-Gray game on Christmas morning. Silly but fun, and that's the kind of thing you need right now.

suicide doesnt punish you.. Its an easy way out.

It punishes the people you leave behind. It savages their lives and haunts them forever. When you take your own life, you take the most meaningful parts of theirs too, guaranteeing they live in misery and tragedy until they they, most likely, follow your lead. LINK

If you have any love left in your heart for anyone, you will live for them, even if you cannot live for yourself.
