This is what I'm saying. If I'm shelling out over a mil for a boat it's gonna have a salon. It's crazy to me the people that are spending upwards of that on a Freeman and all that's in the console is a tiny little toilet.

The Valhalla, Scout, and HCB giant center consoles are super nice but for the same money you can get a used 48-60ft sport fish and have a lot more creature comforts. There is no substitute for a salon blasting cold AC when you're out trolling for 8+ hours.

In todays market 34K for that much HP is not that bad. It is crazy compared to just 20 years ago when you could get an entire fishing boat for that much money.

I’ve got a buddy in OBA that gave that for a party barge! Don’t get me wrong, it’s very nice. However, think about that. $85k for a party barge.

I drove a HCB from Destin to GI couple months ago. Had AC in salon going the entire time and making ice. But I agree a sport fisher has a more comfortable interior. But doesn’t have the ability to fish around the entire vessel. $2700 fuel bill btw.

I remember in Jr High my fishing boat was a 12 foot v hull I found abandoned in a swamp and I bought a 1960s era Evinrude 5 hp from a flea market for 150 bucks along with a trolling motor from wal mart.

This. Which is why if I ever had the money to buy such a thing I’d get a midnight express at least they have a cabin

If I am going to pay $1M+ for a boat and $800 per hour to operate it.

Screw it. I'm buying a Beechcraft Baron and going flying.

Still a Mercury HARD PASS..Lots of lower unit issues/paint chipping off brand new lower units, not able to get parts to fix known issues leaving peoples boatless for months on end. I know the boys in venice runnning mercs have to have a C-Can stacked with spare parts LOL.

Best most reliable outboard all time imo Yamaha 300 or zuke 300. Both proven motors.
