Mens cologne

All of it STINKS. Don’t you men realize women just like a natural scent on a guy? I’ll take some good natural sweaty armpit B.O. any day over this AXE bullshite.

Am I right, tigergirl10?

Liquid Panty Remover = Aqua Di Gio

It’s old but it’s good and I hate change.

There are only two options if you are serious about men's fragrance:

One Million by Paco Rabanne

or

Aventus by Creed

Anything else, you might as well just go with Axe Body Spray.

What's the most expensive? The kind they don't sell in department stores.

Go buy a Dior Sauvage, there's a few different concentrations of it that smell different. Women love the stuff

Deodorant, and sometimes I still smell like smoke from cooking the night before (cherry or oak, not bad).

My current ones are Tom Ford Noir de Noir and Creed Aventus. I loved Creed Velveter but for some reason it would wear off me in an hour or so.

I’m just going to quote my last post on the topic from a few weeks ago:

Bleu de Chanel is a pretty perfect year-round, any occasion scent, and it’s priced as such. Chanel has a lot of other men’s scents. I’m not a big fan of just about any of them. I would probably buy Pour Monsieur if anyone carried it, but it’s hard to find. I have Allure Homme Sport. It smells like a watered-down orange cream sickle and is more or less gone in an hour or two.

Creed has some of my favorites
Aventus- I do wear it just on regular work days at times. I sometimes have people stop me in the halls and ask me what it is. It smells like Smokey pineapple in a really pleasing way.

Virgin Island Water is the absolute perfect unisex summer scent. My wife loves it. I wear it almost any day that it’s > 70F. It only lasts about 4h whereas the Aventus, Bleu Dr Chanel are true “all day” scents. But it smells like lime and coconuts. It’s light and subtle. I don’t get complimented on it nearly as much, but I like it best of any that I own.

Viking is something I would wear if I were someone who wore suits to formal events at night time in the winter. If Virgin Island Water is the casual version of Kramer’s “I came from the beach” cologne, this is the “formal” version of the “I came from a campfire” cologne. I’ve smelled it but never plunged. It’s a bit formal and forward for what I like.

Green Irish tweed is the last one of theirs that I’ll comment on (though they have several others worth mentioning). It’s heavy on vetiver. It smells like walking through a lush field. I’m nearly out - a friend gave me about 30mL a few years back, so I tend to save it for somewhat special occasions, but it’s one I plan on buying a full bottle of when I’m out.

I used to like Ralph Lauren scents. I have outgrown that love with two exceptions:

The blue scent (eau de toilette - I’ve never smelled the parfum) is a great, light summer scent. It’s not the longest lasting, and it’s not so strong, but it smells heavy of Cucumber and just generally has a “fresh” smell to it that almost nothing else has. Most people don’t enjoy RL scents. RL scents are generally not that great, but this one tends to get lumped in with them when it should probably stand out a bit

Their original Polo Ralph Lauren scent (green bottle, gold top) is one that I wish I had enough chest hair to wear. It wreaks of tobacco and leather. It’s strong. You can smell it a mile away. It’s manly as hell, but it just doesn’t fit well on me, sadly. I’ll dab a little on here and there, but it’s a “smell of the 80s” scent that younger folks will generally hate.

There are tons of other great brands and scents out there. Tom Ford has some that aren’t hard to come by that will turn heads (but don’t waste your time or money on fricking Fabulous. It smells like rubber worms in a tackle box left in the back of a truck for a summer. As I list the rest of these comparisons, they’re all very pleasing reminders of the things I’m listing. This one is not. I do enjoy the smell of my tackle box and cracking it open in August. I don’t want that smell under my nose during my work day or at dinner)

Dillards and Macy’s have pretty nice cologne counters where you can sniff around and find something nice. They won’t carry Creed but do have decent selection’s generally.

Wear what you like. Don’t let someone else’s opinion of it discourage you, unless it’s your wife or your cubicle mate.
