re: Mel Gibson's two-part sequel, "The Resurrection of the Christ," ought to be good.

Mel Gibson is directing so that isn’t a problem

Finally something that might actually be worth my money to go to the theater for.

Saw The Passion at the theater and was hardly able to watch it because of how graphic it was. Wouldn't dare go back to see it.

Same. I hate gore in movies but I wanted to see it, powerful and great movie, but definitely not for the weak hearted. One older lady towards the front of the theater passed out during the scene where Jesus was being whipped and there was a minor commotion as people were tending to her, so ya it's pretty brutal.

I’m an atheist but still looking forward to seeing it, especially having been to Jerusalem.

It was definitely great and powerful. I was glad I went, but it truly made me hurt for Jesus to imagine that's what he suffered.

Not surprised an old lady passed out watching it. I turned away multiple times throughout.

There are so many questions regarding what kind of film Gibson is trying to make.

The biggest concern I have is that something like this might be out of Gibson’s league. Gibson’s forte has always been mid-budget historical epic films that place heavy emphasis on style, world-immersion, and cinematography. Based on everything that’s been put out and what Gibson has said in interviews, this film is going to be the exact opposite of that.

Part of what made The Passion and Apocalypto so good was that both of them are relatively simple stories that are very re-watchable. I don’t know how you can achieve that for a film that has an $125 million budget. And having it in English takes away the authentic sense of realism that the first film had.

I’m not getting my hopes up for this one. Unless Gibson absolutely blows it away with an amazing cinematography style, color grading, lighting, musical score, and use of practical sets like he did with the first one, chances of it being a success are very slim.

$10 million to pay the cast, $240 million to pay God for the movie rights to the book...

Steer clear of John Wick movies.
