I had to wipe the tears from my wife’s son’s eyes with my “I believe we will win” scarf when Rapinoe went down. She is an American treasure.

It sucks that happened to someone at the end of their career but this is ultimately what I take away from her statement.
She could’ve looked at this from 1000 different perspectives and this is what she chose.
