The bigger picture seems to be lost on anti-weed types. The bottom line is that it is none of your business if an individual decides that smoking a naturally grown plant is beneficial for them. Live your own life and if it’s not for you then fine.

Most people here are kidding themselves if they think they don’t use substances and behaviors to cope with unwanted emotions just like cannabis users. TV, media, sex, shopping, consumerism, gambling, drugs or alcohol, food, and the most widely excepted form busyness.

People are going to get different results with marijuana.
I decided to start delta 8 for sleep a few months ago. I’m not sure it helped with sleep, but it actually did wonders with anxiety. And helped me drink a lot less. I used to drink about three drinks a night. I cut down to a 12 pack every two weeks or so. And I drink a lot less on the weekends.
The downside is that I eat before bed WAY to much. And have put on a little weight. I get very hungry at night. I also feel like I have also had to increase the amount I vape a few times.
I’ve been doing it since October last year. I’m currently on a two week break because my doctor recommended to lower the amount I need.
I definitely plan on continuing, but I need to be aware of some of the issues it can cause. The eating has to stop. But it’s been amazing for me. The decrease in alcohol alone has been worth it.

Medical marijuana does not help with anxiety, depression, doubles risk of addiction: study
I realize this is a bump from over a month ago, but I meant to respond to this earlier (and no, I wasn't high):
I buy the first party that there is no quantifiable alleviation of anxiety or depression. Those ailments are ultimately not treatable by drugs. Yes, you can blunt symptoms biochemically. But there's no way to actually cure those things pharmaceutically. So, to say weed doesn't help is meaningless. Based on personal experience, it can go both ways depending on the person and the causes of depression and anxiety. And placebo effect is real.
Doubling risk of addiction is absurd and is the ultimate confounding factor , unhealthy user bias cluster frick of a conclusion. Good luck scientifically parsing out that mess.
In short, this is either BS or propaganda or both.

The study, published by researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital on March 18, also noted that up to one in five users of cannabis may develop CUD.
Hmm... a hospital that is no doubt getting a ton of money from big pharma says a plant that everyone can grow doesn't help people?
Sure sure sure.

So now we just believe all of these scientific studies coming from Los Angeles?

I remember back when I got diagnosed with anxiety and the doctor told me that I should take these pills to help me out. He also mentioned that the pills may result in suicidal depression so yeah didn’t take them. Weed certainly helped however and it doesn’t have any side effects like suicide

It has literally saved my life and allowed me to ween away from INTENSE alcohol abuse for years. It has helped me tremendously and allowed to ween away from SSRI’s as well. Marijuana, along with meditation, eating solid, lifting daily, playing better music and being more creative and confident than I have at any point in life, has changed everything. 5 years ago I was jobless and in between careers searching for something and in the most depressed state I have ever been in. I almost ended it multiple times and I couldn’t get out of the bottle. I weened myself without the help of any organization. Just counseling, reading, lifting in the gym, and dedicating myself to improving and working on myself. I own 4 businesses solo now. I can count on one hand the amount of days that I haven’t smoked weed since I began this journey to seek life. I don’t give two fricks what a “study” says, there are MANY like me that have done something similar.

Heroin comes from a naturally grown plant as do many other things highly toxic to man, why is this a positive attribute of pot?

What makes them different? They come from plants.

Weed does nothing for anxiety, it makes it worse IMO.
It doesnt do much for pain either. The medicinal properties of weed have been overstated.
It does seem to temporarily make you disconnected from your surroundings if you imbibe enough, so that helps some I suppose.

Depends on how much you consume and if your body is THC sensitive. I find it's much easier to go overboard and get into anxiety territory with edibles vs flower.
