Point is, regardless of who you are, if you get out of your vehicle during a road rage incident at a stop and approach the other car - all bets are off. Right or wrong. You've just given that person justification to shoot you while they were angry and have a great excuse for it

Man, you are going out of your way to take up for JM. Evidence is indicating he was the aggressor, but you still are trying to paint him in a positive light.

One piece of info from Fox 8 on witness statements

quote:

Multiple witnesses said a man in an Infiniti sedan pulled the victim from his Audi and shot him multiple times after a verbal altercation. Witnesses said the shooter then waited for police to show up.

Below is post I made earlier on Witness statements

WWL LINK

So this account from this witness doesn't make sense on two points.
quote:

Lance Harris said he was traveling down Holmes Boulevard just two cars behind Gasser's vehicle.

The two cars are clearly parked on Behrman hwy and not Holmes Blvd. So how could he be two cars behind Gasser on Holmes?

quote:

"Him and Joe McKnight met up and that’s when he started arguing from an argument you heard gunshots,” Harris recalled. “You heard three gunshots.”

In the video he describes hearing three gunshots back to back to back. He doesn't describe a pause where Gasser could have said "You shouldn't have fricked with me" or whatever he reportedly said.

This is just an example of how many of the immediate witness statements can get confusing as to what actually happened.

This is sad and certainly appears as though Gasser was clearly in the wrong with Mcknight not doing anything to provoke Gasser.

It will be interesting to see the facts come out and see what charges Gasser will be facing. Gasser must think he was justified if he waited for the police to show up.

This could've been totally avoided if cooler heads prevailed...

People need to think before letting your anger control you... I get getting pissed off about the way people drive around you, but really is it worth it..?

If all was avoided, Joe McNight would still be alive, and I'm sure the dude who did the shooting is carrying some heavy guilt right now..

Obviously I don't know anymore facts than you do but only responding to your quote above. If over several miles there was a road rage incident going on, you come to a stop and the other person gets out car and is coming at you through your window (don't know if this is what happened but is a possibility since they released him) you wouldn't be in fear for your life.

google map of incident

The Audi is pulled up into the turn off to Holmes Blvd. The Audi driver would be the aggressor judging from the position of the cars.

no intention of turning

No, look at your picture again.

The Audi was past the veer to turn right.

Why is it so hard to believe ole Joe just mighta been in the wrong? Because he was a high school hero there?

Did you follow him as a youth and his career? He was very soft-spoken, reserved and a bit introverted. The dumbest thing he may have done that day is getting out of his car.

I'm not saying he didn't attack the man, just saying it would have been out of the ordinary. This very well could be someone losing their life over a misunderstanding.

SO many pussies these days want to carry guns. If you fear for your life over road rage don't get involved in road rage.

Just like Zimmermans bitchass thought he was neighborhood security but coulnd't hold his own in a fight against a teenager.

Is the Audi even in a lane?

Maybe were passed the veer, but a right turn from that perspective looks VERY easy to make, legal turn or not.

How do you figure?

I was the one who brought up the location of his vehicle in relation to the intersection. At this point, I'm pretty sure McKnight got out and wanted to have words with this guy. I don't believe he had any intention of physically assaulting the guy, but there is no way Gasser could have known that. If McKnight got out and went to his window to argue, the moment he put a finger into the vehicle Gasser was justified in killing him.

It sucks, because Gasser may have been in fear of a threat that wasn't ever going to materialize, but he's still justified in killing McKnight.

I carry a gun. And it sat next to me when an F-150 tried to run me off the interstate in a road rage incident. It works both ways.

Roughly 2 people die in the U.S. every day who aren't able to "hold their own" in a fight against an "unarmed person."

In that scenario the police would have been called and my windows would have been rolled up and doors locked.

We all remember this road rage video don't we? Could the guy in the car have shot this marine? Road Rage Marine

Just read the press conference points. Not the least but surprised that witness testimony was horse shite. It would be very hard to hear what two people were saying in the middle of a busy intersection while you were walking out of a gas station. Esp after seeing the Google heart pics.

Witness should be charged with falsifying police report or hindering investigation or something for the bullshite.

Edit. Which I jumped the gun there. Just because the paper reported that doesn't mean it was what was told to the cops. Still, that type of reckless behavior can cause major problems. Esp with things as sensitive as they are.
