Now knowing some of the facts, it is still hard to believe Joe McKnight being aggressive enough to be perceived as a threat. He was always so soft-spoken.
Still very sad.
Still very sad.

Well you can shoot someone running away from you so who knows what can happen in America.

Gonna need some info on this "witness" that set the narrative that law enforcement has debunked.

Happens all the time.
Had a client who had two of their unmarked work trucks strike each other. Guy comes out of the hood to driver one "I saw it and it was (the other guy's) fault. I'll give a statement for $100." Driver says no. The "witness," not realizing that the other driver works for the same company, does the same thing with the other driver.

Point stands. All hours of the day are night in New Orleans. Place is a shithole.

So jay does stand your ground only apply after you've begun to get a beat down or after the other guy pulls a gun on you first? I swear some of you guys are such clowns I'd love to see if you'd defend yourself if an angry man got out of his car and approached your car, from the way you talk you'd just turn around and bend over and and let him do what he pleases.

Same response I gave earlier in the thread
I just have a really hard time putting myself in that situation and "fearing for my life".

Your mental gymnastics are outstanding. You can say whatever you think happened and believe he was in the right and that's fine. However, it doesn't make sense to me and that's what I feel. We just disagree.

Because people don't believe Joe had any intention of actually fighting the guy but he was still shot and killed. No one expects Gasser to know that beforehand, so the shooting can still be justified, but it doesn't mean that there was any threat to his life. It sucks, but that is the way the law is written.

Well the law says that if McKnight tried to enter the vehicle, it doesn't matter if there was any fear for your life, you're justified in killing him. I understand why the law is the way it is, but sometimes it lets others off who are pieces of shite for shooting a man.
