Things are subject to change, and if Joe was trying to jump through the window then I think he was justified, but at this moment I have a hard time thinking he didn't help escalate the situation, got nervous, and shot.

These are my thoughts too. I just have a really hard time putting myself in that situation and "fearing my my life".

Decent photo showing the location of the Audi in relation to the turn lane. The green marks were where the tires were located.

Weird. I'm just the opposite. When you're dealing with simpletons, then you speak slow and deliberate as not to be misunderstood in the slightest. I think his tome and demeanor was perfect, and his message was poignant.

While I agree with what you posted, none of that even matters because if you read the comments on the facebook live broadcast, NOTHING will change their minds... NOTHING

The presser was nearly 30 minutes late. They also should have done it when they released Gasser in the first place in order to nip the speculation in the bud. I also thought it was apparent that Normand seemed to be itching for a fight and was confrontational. Perhaps that is the best way to handle the outrage, but it could also backfire.

It may be that the cop was explaining to you the "clear cut" scenario in which you are justified...where in reality, there is a lot of gray area.

Yes, I think this is the case. WWL has this quote up on its site explaining it.
quote:

The key in the law is that it does not require that the killer feel they must kill to prevent serious bodily injury or death. It only requires that they must believe that the deadly force was necessary to keep the person from entering their vehicle.

Yep, he was pinned in with nowhere to run if he wanted to.

Nah, man. This isn't looking good for Joe. The Audi is the blue box below. He was definitely the aggressor here.

agreed, but this also shows they were at the front of the "line" at the light and Gasser could have driven off instead of shooting

not saying this wasnt justified, but other options were available

I think that doesn't matter according to the law. It also looks like the wrecker is in front of Gasser's car and still behind the white line for the intersection.

I'm not sure if the side view mirror is that big of a deal or not. The vehicles are very close. Hell, I don't know if McKnight could have gotten out without hitting the Infiniti with his door. They may have closed the mirror after taking pictures in order to allow for more access. Surely that cop in the background can't make it through with the mirror fully extended.

I don't believe so. I imagine they will leave the cars in the exact state that they came upon them.

See this picture, which was taken long after the investigation began. The mirror is still pushed in.
