The rider in me says it was just to display a doll to maybe get people’s attention to ask for it, without any nefarious thought behind it.
Edit:
After seeing photo with white Barbie also being “lynched” my rider in me thought is confirmed. Guy likely just had a ton of Barbies to get rid of and created his own Barbie medallion beads.

Only people I know who ride in it would be considered libs.
With 2000+ riders I would think everyone is represented.
Probably thinking of D'etat or one of the old krewes. They do a good job of pissing off everyone. Like last night they got people in a tizzy.

- Before anyone yells racism they should first find out what were the intentions. I seriously doubt someone riding in a parade that I assume had black people attending, would think doing something racist would be a good idea. No one wants to be in the wrong area and then all of a sudden something happens and they have to stay there for 5-10 mins.
- Maybe it is something that has nothing to do with racism at all so whoever decided to have those as throws didn't even think about it
- And if it was something racist, by reacting to it you are doing what they were likely hoping would happen.. People do thing for reactions, given them one is giving them what they want.
- It is not at all illegal to have a doll, no matter what color, hanging on the side of a float by beads.
Her office probably got a lot of calls about it. Probably from some jackass white people who think black people needed to be offended by it.. Along with some black people who have been convinced they have to be offended by everything.
