They back her because they fear her.

If they can be convinced she will not win, they will abandon her.

They must be shown that they will benefit more from opposing her than they will risk.

A decent candidate should easily beat her. She won by 4100 votes last time to get less than 52%

Not with the backing she has now. She’s unbeatable.

We aren’t that young anymore, but we liked the atmosphere down there. The Village, Strophes, and the Watermark drew us in. Then things went South. It’s a shame too.

A city the size of Baton Rouge, on a major waterway, state capital, and home to a major university, should have a thriving downtown and entertainment district. The fact that Broome has done everything on her power to shutter downtown is reason enough to vote her sorry arse out of office.

I agree, but something convinced these people to jump in on her side. It started with MovEBR and has really emerged with the SG thing.
Something is up, don’t know what it is, but a lot of people sure got civic minded all of a sudden.

Please elaborate further on “backing”.

You talking about the useful idiots like Lipsey, Engquist, et all on the BRAF , BRAC?

The flight to Ascension, Livingston or out of state has made EBRP lean Dem. I don't really see that changing. Quite the opposite actually. I think it will swing more to the left in the future.

People said the same thing about JBE a month ago. They said the same things about Alabama 3 months ago. Things seem inevitable until they’re not.

Victory is achieved not by crushing your enemies but by convincing them there’s no use resisting anymore.

Remember who was unbeatable six months ago? Golden State.

Now they are looking like a high lottery team because they have had a legendary rash of injuries.

It would be awesome if Broome never got out of the primary. Is there a chance someone like Tara Wicker might run and dilute some of Broome's votes?

I doubt it, but anything is possible. Democrats are much better at controlling what candidates run than republicans. The dems are great at all getting on one page and presenting a united front in a primary. Republicans eat their own.

How effective would Broome be right now if all these business people would not have backed her play on SG? She’d be out there by herself, but now she has company.

Many here, myself included, said Edwards was vulnerable even though the media tried to prop him up.

Bama was seen as having defensive issues, they still do.

Victory in politics is about getting more votes than the other guy. Look at the national Dems, they haven’t given up yet but lost the election three years ago.

BRAF and BRAC have to back her because they’re heavily leveraged in projects that need mayoral approval and depend on money from St. George.

They will back whomever is in power to keep feeding at the trough.

They were told SWB was Kip 2.0.
Bodie wanted to defund the DDD (BRAF/BRAC slush fund) and use the money elsewhere. They had to support SWB.

If a challenger shows that they can be more friendly to them than SWB AND win, they will latch onto a new host.

These people own her now. They aren’t leaving her.

Obviously she promised these people something they wanted in return for support. They have her right where they want her.

Watch.

More like they’d rather get a handful of scraps than starve and get nothing. They know that they’ll at least get fed something if SWB is in power and they don’t openly oppose her.

False. If they controlled her, the LSU Lakes project and the TRAM wouldn’t have died on the vine.
