I completely disagree. When my dad had a heart attack at home my brother drove him to the hospital - I was 8 and in the backseat - it remains some of the most impressive driving I've ever witnessed. The docs said that if we had waited for an ambulance he would've been dead.
Clearly the same can't be said here, but I'd rather take my chances hauling balls to the ER than sitting around with a 911 operator helplessly giving CPR for 45 min while the ambulance made its way there.
From the little we know so far, this doesn't seem to be a Penn State situation where fraternity brothers hemmed and hawed about doing the right thing - the way I read it is that they noticed he didn't wake up in the morning and got him to the ER ASAP.

I wonder if it was a diversion for those still at the house to dispose of anything in an attempt to cover-up the death.

Not fair to issue a blanket punishment where everyone suffers for the actions of one house. Sororities certainly have no history of this type of behavior so to punish the entire Greek system is just overkill political expediency. That said, feel terrible for the kid's family. Tragic.

last week it was reported that he was found unresponsive the sometime the day after unresponsive. they could not wake him. he could have passed before then or had been in a deeply declined state where even resuscitation from medical professionals would not be able to bring him back.
Either way I would have called 911 immediately.

I'm interested in seeing the time he arrived at the hospital and when he was pronounced dead. If it's a tight window, I'd bet Pico is correct.

Because if 911 is called, the cops are all over Phi Delts arse immediately. By driving him themselves, they can just dump him at the hospital and buy themselves a few hours to try an get a story straight and lawyer up while the authorities figure out who Max was and where he came from.
ETA. Max wasn't reported dead by the fraternity to the school until noon the next day.

How dare you not be just completely outraged at the entire Greek system for not policing a couple of Phi delt members who were in their house hazing kids in the middle of the night on a weekday! Now all of you can sit out and think about what you've done!

Yep. LSUPD would've been so far up their arse in minutes.
LSUPD is required to go to all on-campus medical calls, btw, for those who do not know.

It raises a lot questions, like when did the frat members first realize there was something wrong with him, why did they not call 911 at that at the first sign he had a problem, did they waste valuable time when his life could have been saved waiting to see if he recovered on his own to avoid the consequences that would come with calling for help?
