This. I have been in this situation, and at no point thought about dragging the body into the car and driving to the hospital. It is instinct to call 911 for a normal person.

I didn't omit response time. It's offset by Rando honking and trying to get people to get out of his way with a dead body in his YUGO versus full code sirens on a EMT vehicle.

I Was an EMT-Basic in a plant for 4 years. I got lucky enough to drive the amberlamps twice from the plant to the OLOL ER for medical emergencies(both turned out just fine).
I almost rolled that fricker over exiting Essen the first time.
I know stuff.

Exactly. A lot of close friends of mine were at the drunken party a few years ago(it was posted here and made news) where a teammate hit his head on the sidewalk and didn't wake up in the morning.
Not a single one of them thought "let's drive our unresponsive teammate to the ER."
And they were half the distance to OLOL as these kids.

Plus, the Paramedics have the tools that can often get them breathing again on site, well before arriving at the hospital.

Yep. LSUPD would've been so far up their arse in minutes.
If Gruver is taken to the hospital by private car and comes out this okay the entire thing goes away and nothing more happens.
If an ambulance shows up to the house, they also would have gotten a call from the Office of Greek Affairs. Once they reported it up the chain that it was alcohol related a dean would have come over for a visit.
Situations like this are made worse not less common by the clamp down-on, on-campus drinking.

LSU has a huge blame in this.
You know who has repeatedly failed to implement a medical amnesty policy? LSU.
You know who was thinking about it before Max died, but never quite got around to it? LSU
Phi Delt is definitely at fault here, but LSU's ridiculous policies don't help anything.

That's very important and good point.
It's a big problem with heroin addicts and the counter-productive law to prosecute the buddy/person who administered the dose.

No doubt. Had less serious alcohol poisoning incidents in the late 80s-early 90s before the drinking law change and subsequent policy changes.

Or in rememberance of the kid who died, the frat bros could take a week off from blowing their buddies Chad and Derek and not make such a big deal of this

If I want to blow Chad and Derek and call it a fraternity event, it's not LSU's place to tell me I can't. That's the entire point of this.

If these people are so misguided, immature, or just stupid that they would risk someone's life to avoid getting into trouble with college administrators the faults on them not the school.

maybe they panicked and didnt want to wait for 911 and the ambulance? Maybe they freaked out and drove him there thinking that was the best way to get him help.
what do you think happened? What is your theory on the conspiracy?
