I'm sticking with 15...but the only assumption I have to make is that a single mug is half of two mugs.

There is no answer, You can't fricking assume going from a double mugged picture to a Single mugged picture defines a 2 going to a 1. fricking stupid arse shite.

actually I just went back and looked at the picture:

in the 3rd line you see 2 beer mugs, but you must make the assumption that the beer mug behind the first beer mug looks exactly like the beer mug in the front.

You actually only see 2/3 of the back beer mug

So now the equation, if LNCHBOX wants his argument, should be:

5 + (z+(0.66 * z)) + (z + (0.66 * z)) = 9
(z + (0.66 * z)) + (z + (0.66 * z)) = 4
(z + 0.66z) + (z + 0.66z) = 4
1.66z + 1.66z = 4
3.32z = 4
z = 1.204819

I fully understand the line of thinking some of you are using to say it's undefined. Hell, I could argue that the two mugs are really C x C, so the third equation is 2(C^2)=4, so C=2^.5, and the final answer is 5+10(2^.5). However, the answer to the meme is 15 because it take the least amount of assumptions.

5 + (1.204819 x 10) =

there are two types in this thread arguing that the SAME exact picture of beer mugs doubled up isn't double the value of a single beer mug..

Those people: the one that likes to just be a contrarian and enjoys arguing, and the one that didn't even notice the mugs being doubled up and got the problem wrong and now just trying to argue against the problem.
