First step for you to understand: it does not matter if the mugs are identical or not.
Then none of the other variables matter either. The bottle can be 10 in the first equation and 15 in the next. Why not?

It's like you're trying to say it's logical to assume that 2 mugs together could include a discount; therefore who knows what a single mug would cost?

You are being extremely obtuse here.

why is this getting personal?

Are we sure that the mugs are identical? What if the mug in the back has some weird bulge on the left side that we can't see?

Burger is 5
Beer is 10
Mugs(2) is 2...so I'm assuming a single mug is 1
5 + 1 x 10
No parentheses, so 5 + 10 would be 15
Aside from the missing mug, I wonder what other picture I'm overlooking.

Also, let's not assume that all beer is created equally here. Do both really have the same beer? Is it even beer?

I'm doing exactly what you're doing.

There are only three variables.

Is there something to assume it's (5+1) x 10? and not 5 + 1 x 10
Serious question. I did not notice the missing mug until later.

Can't assume that the mugs are identical, so you can't assume that the bulgeless mug is worth 1/2 of the 2 mugs. Case closed.

quote:yeah but it isn't logical.... the pictures of the beer mugs look identical for a reason.
That you can't understand this way of looking at the problem is not my problem
