Exactly. They get that request multiple times a day.
So, just stroll/call up last week, request a corner suite directly across from the biggest show of the month with check in 9/28 staying through the weekend.
Booking.yeahhhright...

Proooobbably not talk to the media. but who knows, the poor guy is in shock. I'm sure they knocked on his door, and he just walked outside and started answering questions before he realized what was happening.
Yeah, why would you talk to the media at this point? Some people aren't too bright.

No kidding. Put me on a hilltop and have me shoot into a small lake. Bet I hit the lake every time.
The story is the time and planning involved. THAT took patience and effort. But the shot/shots take no training really. Few minutes of practice in how to change magazines and how to point at the ocean and fire.

I think he made it clear in the interview that he wanted everything to go through him and will talk as long as they leave his mother alone. I don't have a problem with that. Although there are probably reporters beating down his mothers door anyways right now

Not talk to the media for one. And if you do, don't give such an odd interview
Given his situation, I don't think the interview was that odd. Can't imagine anyone not having that level of shock/disbelief
Also, if you dont talk now everyone you know will always wonder in the back of their mind your potential knowledge/involvement
He also seemed to want to avoid his elderly mother being swarmed by news people

I can respect that.

I think people in shock make stupid decisions. It's easy for us to judge and say what we would do in that situation, but I could totally see how someone in complete shock might be on autopilot and answer the door thinking it might be a neighbor or something, and not expect the media. Before you know it, they're throwing questions at you and you're in a full-fledged interview. Idk, I think the guy was odd, but I can't judge someone who woke up this morning to this kind of news and is thrown so suddenly into this situation and expect them to act completely rationally.

Has it been reported how this ended? Did cops kill the guy or did he kill himself?

Not too many people have a defined response plan to the ol' "My brother committed the largest mass shooting in American history" situation

I'm trying to wrap my mind around why this would be weird at all.

A corner suite with a stripview is probably cost-prohibitive to most in Vegas. Old Vegas saying "how much time are you gonna be in the room anyway?" Probably no problem asking for a suite. This was just a concert/festival. It's not the NFR or Super Bowl weekend.

Right! It's obvious that some folks never get out of the trailer park! I've requested strip view rooms in Vegas for the past 15 years. They get hundreds of these requests per day.

While it was initially reported that the cops shot him, official word is that they found him after he shot himself.

Or after the "deep state" killed him

I've made no comment on if it was odd or not.
I'm contemplating how difficult it had to be for the Las Vegas stars to align re reservations with no far in advance planning.

Not weird at all. As stated before in this thread, people request these rooms every day, multiple times.
