not really. you're shooting into a crowd of 22000 people, that requires 0 precision
With the amount of rounds the guy shot, and the density of the crowd, 58 dead might even be a bit low as sad as that is to say.

Obviously any situation like this is really sad, but for some reason, this one sticks more with me, guess because it’s in the US, in a place I’ve been and could have been me out there. Just horrible.

Others have pointed it out, you are correct. The crowd is massive. Just blows my mind

Wonder how many injuries are from the gunman vs from people fleeing and the havoc that ensued.
Overwhelming favorite. Jammed packed drunk people in Vegas running in circles at night.

Thats a direct response to ISIS claiming he was one of them.
Also when stuff like this happens you want to carefully parsed words because every statement is being read into and taken apart.

with that many injured, I expect there will be more that end up passing away. Terrible

This leads me to believe it was something low like 5.56. The cavitation at that distance would be less lethal.....which explains the 515 injured

Luggage scanning would be a complete waste of time, as there are other elevated places someone could use (parking garages being one).
People can't wrap their heads around that many guns being collected in a hotel. We can react as a society and make sweeping hotel policy changes that will cost millions and catch nobody. Because nobody will try this again. Evil bastards will always do evil shite, and find a way to do it.
The solution is to never have an activity where more than 7 people are in one place at one time.
That being said, ISIS is jealous. Any scenario like the one in Vegas will need to be adjusted. Any open air venue with a high roof or hotel nearby will have to adjust policies. Worldwide. ISIS takes notes. frickers are probably furious that an old fart from Nevada thought of it first.

It's easier for me to make a suppressor out of an oil filter then it would be for me to got buy one for $200 (or whatever they'll cost)
I never said anything about suppressors and don't think they are relevant to the issue at hand.
If there aren't restrictions or red tape, it's easier to buy a bump stock than make one if you have the money.

58 dead from 400 yards away from a guy with no formal training is insane.
There were 22,000 people packed shoulder to shoulder into a 2 acre site, this guy or anyone else could have done it wearing a blindfold.

People are too used to video games.
It actually increases a bullet's velocity because it spends more time being propelled.

Reports from earlier stated that there was a high fence with limited exits at the venue.
Agreed that many of the injuries will be from panic.

The most likely scenario was the bipod mounted AR-15’s with the bump fire stock.
I find it very unlikely that this guy had a class 3 license and several full auto guns, but who knows. Full autos are an absurd amount of money and pain in the arse to get.

the use of the word "international" instead of just "any" terrorist organization seems deliberate.
But let's wait for the facts to come out.

So far, investigators believe the firearms were purchased legally. The suspicion, based on initial reports, is that any of the rifles used were altered in order to function as an automatic weapon, the official said.

Event in the US that I can make it to, that I could have been at (and btw this is my birthday weekend, so a trip to Vegas and attending a concert while there) is totally possible, and adds the concept of "that could have been me, or my family", in a real sense.
