Will you let us know what he sees or hears.
He is terrible at texting back. Hence why It took me getting ahold of his wife that works for LVPD to find out he wasn't at work.

If you if "ban" something, people come up with 1,000 ways to get around it.
People probably don't even realize you can use an oil filter as a makeshift suppressor.

Hard to wear ear protection when hunting.

Of course. But making it harder for somebody to obtain something that can do lots of damage is not a bad thing. You can't walk into a store and buy grenades for a reason, but people can still make IEDs.

Hey man, in case you didn’t know, LucasP has the contrarian gig locked up around here

I've seen alot of pictures of cops with their AR's drawn, yet look at the windows around the two that are shattered. No collateral... not a single shot. In real life active shooters (see Dallas PD ambush by BLM) those guys shot at everything. Again, not saying this didnt happen... just something to take note of.

32 stories up. They are going to start returning fire on a window of a hotel with every room occupied? Shoot from the ground-up? 300+ feet, with an AR-15? You would need a trained sniper to take the shot from across the street. Ideally from an elevated location as well. There is ZIP across the street from the MB.

you need a $200 tax stamp, that's all. don't argue with me, I worked in Purchasing at an SOT for 3 years buying and selling these things
Correct, but most fully automatic rifles are $10K+. Not likely that he had that many fully auto weapons. Possible, but not likely.

You've still got to hold over the same amount as if you were standing flat on the ground. Gravity and such

Could you imagine staying in the room next to this guy as all of this is taking place

How so?
It's easier for me to make a suppressor out of an oil filter then it would be for me to got buy one for $200 (or whatever they'll cost)
I mean, I get what you're saying, but for items like this where literally anyone with a saw can make it, it's pretty dumb to think banning them is going to solve any real issue.
Banning things rarely works. Our country has a historic failure rate when it comes to banning things.

So some average guy not military, not an avid gun owner, no appearance of crazy or radical, brings a significant armory of guns and ammo into a hotel and carries out a strategically and tactically proficient op, perhaps even with a high degree of marksmanship, skill, accuracy etc.
Was already dead when police entered the room.
Talk about shite not adding up. How do they even know it was him, other than his dead body was found in the room where the shots were fired from?

quote:"legal" isn't relevant to the situation. Google rubber band bump-fire, there are lots of youtube videos (or there were) showing how easy it is to do.

I think he used a bump fire stock.
Seems like that would be the easiest route to get as close to "automatic" as possible. I can't believe these things are legal.
It would hinder precise aiming, and I see some claims about the distance being pretty far. That's also not relevant- he was 30+ stories up, and firing into a big crowd. "Aiming" would be just as easy as spraying a garden hose at patio 15 ft away, while you're standing on your roof. You just pour it down, and something will get wet.
