Last night they said he was not killed, only shot in the leg. Unless things changed since then, but they didn't make it sound like it was a life threatening injury

But if mini sheriff says they were prepared to engage had the shooter begun firing again, then they still would have been susceptible to all that stuff.

I don't understand how you're not tracking this man? If civilians are dieing they have to go in and stop it, even if it means taking their life for the opportunity to stop them. If he's stopped shooting people though they don't need to give their lives to intervene at that point. Life loss is a zero sum game, if no one has to lose it, that's better, right?

Carson...I'm sorry I don't know your background, but apparently you are a professional regarding weaponry?????

I have no idea. I'm being chastised for asking you questions. Can you you please let me know what I am uneducated about?

Yeah, re-read my posts and the article I posted from last month. We're talking about a few hundred people. The Philippines was called an "ISIS hotbed" earlier, and that's absolutely not true. It's a Christian country with a small pocket of ISIS militants.

Over 700 enemy combatants have been killed so far and the battle still isn't over yet.

The southern Philippines has always had issues wth extremism and is definitely a hotbed.

Youre uneducated about the fact that we are asking you not to ask your meaningless gun questions in the thread about 500 people being shot.

Has nothing to do with Carson. Take those questions elsewhere and dont muddy up this thread.

From the Daily Mail link, more questions....

Also on Tuesday, video was released showing debris strewn outside the shooter's hotel room, from when the SWAT team blew the doors off the front door.

The video shows bullet holes piercing the left side of the suite's double doors, confirming reports that Paddock shot at officers as they tried to break into the room. However, most of the door is knocked down from the SWAT team's forceful - but necessary - entrance.

They don't want you asking questions about his opinion on some random gun in a thread that has done a decent job staying on topic. I don't really blame them.

If you want to ask him about something relevant to the topic at hand, go right ahead.

My active shooter training specified that you go directly to the shooting to stop it, bypassing wounded. If the shooting has stopped, you proceed, with caution, clearing rooms. If the shooting starts again, you engage as soon as possible.
With no shots being fired, waiting on SWAT to make entry is the right call, imo.
