With that argument, grenades should be legal for purchase because anyone can just make an IED.
Were grenades ever available for purchase by citizens? Technically, they were never "banned". So no, not the same.
And yes, anyone can make and IED. Look at the Boston bombers.
Point being... People who want to kill, will find a way to kill.
Guns, trucks, homemade bombs, planes... All tools of mass murder.

I’m definitely not anti gun. I own several. But if full auto guns are illegal or require a special license then a product that basically makes a semi auto gun operate full auto should also be illegal
That's kinda my thought process as well. Full auto weapons aren't illegal, but they're difficult to get, and they're expensive. Whatever we're doing with fully automatic weapons seems to be working, as I cannot recall a shooting involving a fully automatic weapon. I can get behind the same regulations on modifications that simulate automatic fire rates.

It's easy to make one
Honestly though, is it? Some people would say whittling a fricking trinket out of wood is easy, but most people can't really do it well. I'd like to think a fully functioning bumpstock wouldn't be so easy.
If it's so easy, do you know how? I sure as shite don't.

Don't ISIS people typically let everyone know they're in love with Baghdadi and Allah as they're doing stuff?
That is basically my point. For terrorism to be effective you have to be aware what you are supposed to be terrified of. Some overt declaration (like a manifesto or identification with some group) is needed.

All the shooting lasted only about 10 minutes. It took them over an hour to find him.
The hour it took to bust in, IMO, was mostly because of the shooter giving up on him attack on the crowd.

that first video has aluminum bent perfectly, bolted on, etc..not everyone can make that and it be as effective as buying one legally manufactured.
And again, just because you can make it illegally, doesn't mean it should be legal. At minimum you can make them have to work to do it, with the probability of it breaking increasing exponentially when it's some ghetto rigged POS taped on and zip tied.

On a local level
I wonder if this will cause any security changes to Bensons Tower during events at Champions Square/smoothie king arena
Or hotels along canal during Mardi gras

All I'm saying is banning them is futile.
It's easy to make one and if someone is willing to go out and kill 59 people, the last thing they're worried about is following the law .
Like I said, ban it. Doesn't matter to me. But it's going to do nothing to prevent someone from doing the same exact thing with a home grown version of it.
I'm not sure if that works in this case. Fully automatic weapons are legal to own and can fire much quicker than a bump stock, but Paddock didn't use them. Why? Probably because the regulations and cost.
I understand criminals don't follow the law, and I'm pro-gun, but this defense doesn't hold water in this case, IMO.

Anyone find out what types of weapons Paddock used?

It also makes me angry with Dems and liberal media.
Here we have an issue that certainly deserves airtime and they can't even learn enough about the entire gun issue and industry to form an even halfway coherent start to a debate.
It instantly turns people off because they come off as idiots who don't actually care about the subject and in turn, we don't trust them to make decisions on it for us.

Was he still shooting when the first group of cops showed up (not SWAT)? If not, he just offed himself at a random time. Don't ISIS people always get in shootouts? I thought it was their job to take out as many people as possible
He certainly had plenty of loaded mags left

Here's a tour of the room videoed by a previous guest. They never show the other bedroom because Paddock actually had two rooms. Next to the first TV area, you can kind of see where the doorway is to the other hotel room. Seems the room has also been redecorated since this video, although hideously. As you'll see, the gunman had the perfect vantage point to the venue (looks covered in the video.)
