Saw a guy the other day driving.

He had nitrile gloves on like a good citizen. Only he was wearing them while he was smoking a cigarette.

Kinda defeated the purpose...

Seen several people out with their mask only to have their nose uncovered. Brilliant.

And then there was this one woman who was dutifully wearing her mask except she again didn't have it covering her nose and the mask was upside down. The wire was on her chin.

I saw a bad mowing his yard with a mask yesterday. Push mower, too. And he was literally the only person outside on his street.

I just have to think he is wearing it because of allergies. At least I convince myself they are.

They're idiots.

It's required by nearly every store here, but I take it off the second I step out. They're hot and itchy.

Please enlighten me on this.

If you’re traveling from location A (where you wore a mask) to location B and you plan to wear a mask at location B, why would you take it off in the car?

Because it's hot and itches and generally annoying?

No. Trust me. You do not forget it's on especially if you wear glasses or sunglasses.

It’s really not that bad. Maybe get a better mask? People wear them all day long without complaining.

And, again, the OT is always screaming “Touching the mask spreads rona faster than the mask prevents it!!!1!!”, now it’s screaming “Rip that bitch off immediately after getting in the car or you’re a weirdo!!!1! Even if you need it 5 minutes later!!!1!!”

I wear them all day long. They suck.

I have disposable ones, bandanas, and a couple cloth ones my company gave out. They all suck and like I said, they especially do if you wear glasses/sunglasses. Nothing but fog.

Some people legitimately are trying to limit dust and pollen inhalation when working outside so I'll give them a pass.

That seems to be the consensus, yet ...

if the same people wear a mask to the store in a pandemic to legitimately try to limit virus spreading, many on here would say they are fricking morons.

Mask to avoid sneezing = okay.

Mask to avoid killing grandma = virtue signalling dumbass.

Maybe they're driving to see customers, and have several stops. I would guess that a person would be more likely to contaminate a mask by handling it. The more one takes it on, and off, the more likely it is to get infected. They probably think the best thing to do is just wear it until they get home. If it's cloth they can then thow it in their dirty cloths hamper.

If they're an at risk person, and they have to be out for work, or any other reason, they may be doing the safest thing for them. One of my mom's 70 year old friends is still working. She takes her cloths off and washes them as soon as she gets home.

Why do you care so much?

The only logical conclusion I've come to is that they wore it inside a store and have another place to go before going home, and so taking the mask off presents a chance to get the virus on your hands, so they leave it on.

I sincerely doubt they put that much thought into it.

There's an old lady that walks my neighborhood and she wears a mask while walking.

Proper use is to keep it on til you can take it off in a clean area.

So you go to the store and put it on before you get out of your car. If you don't have some travel hand sanitizer in your car, it is a better idea to keep it on til you get home and can sanitize prior to removal. Some people go even further and want to be able to clean further before putting hands near their face.

Plus it is a good reminder to keep your hands away from your face.

This too, taking it off and on multiple times is a bad idea. Leave it on til you are done using it for that trip and then clean it prior to using it again.
