It's odd how high and mighty some dudes get about this. I'm sorry but I see a HUGE difference between a 14 girl 30 guy than a 14 boy 30 girl. Meanwhile I have a coworker that is adamant that they are equal.

Make it 16 and I agree...14 is pretty screwed up. Many boys haven't hit puberty yet at that age.

I don't know if he's making his argument from a legal standpoint or more of a social argument. Personally I think legally it should be the same but socially, it seems a little more predatorial when an older male commits statutory rape than when a female does. Women are more prone to making decisions based on manipulation and men are generally more manipulative when it comes to sex.
I'm not condoning statutory sex, but men are the stronger gender and should be expected to show more restraint.
Having said that, I can't imagine what goes through the mind of anyone wanting to be sexually involved with minors. Even at 18, I didn't want to date anyone younger than 16/17 much less 14. And she was 22 hooking up with a 14 yo.

What I'm saying is it's easier for a 30 year old man to force himself or brainwash a 14 year old girl into doing something physical that she really doesn't want to do than a 30 year old woman to a 14 year old boy. Unless she's pegging the kid I have a hard time calling it rape.

bullshite. It’s much much easier for a 30 year old female to seduce a 14 year old growing boy. If the boy has any knowledge of what sex is about then he is a very easy target.

You missed the key phrase “doing something physical that she really doesn't want to do.” If that 14 year old didn’t want to do it, having normal sexual intercourse would be near impossible.
