Will hit 21 years of marriage in April with two teenage sons that are very active, which means there are ballgames or school events every week, and we both work. Even with that, we average having sex three times a week. This is an average. We may have a period of 10-14 days off due to my travel schedule and obvious reasons but we have always made it up. Not planned but just what happens.
Everyone's relationships are different but your ONCE every 4-6 weeks screams "THERE ARE ISSUES" to me.

It's not really a dead fish situation, when we do it she is into it and enjoys it...and it's truly not a matter of me just flat out not initiating, and I guess 'sense' is the wrong word but I can tell when she does and does not want to engage.

Personally, the wife and I have sex 1-2x per week. Occasionally we will have weeks where we have sex 5 times, and somtimes zero. I think both the wife and I are ok with this frequency. We have hot sex, we both usually orgasm and we have been married for almost 20 years.
