Married folks here, I have a question.

Which do you prefer:

To die before or after your spouse?

I think it depends on my age.

If 45-50, I would prefer to die first. Long term, my kids need their mother to help through weddings and grandkids, etc. Plus, I am worth a couple of million dead with my life insurance.

If old, like 85-90- I would prefer that she die first so she would not have the pain of grief to endure.

How about you?

Same time like that movie where ole baw sneaks into wife’s room at nursing home and they pass together.

Exactly that. Although you may consider converting your term life insurance to whole life at term end.

Wife wouldn’t grieve if you died in your late 40’s?

Subtle brag thread about being over-insured.

Not so subtle “look how selfless I am” thread.

Before. I want her to spend some of my money so she can travel where she wants to. She deserves it.

Our unique situation - we don't have any kids who would look after our well-being. That troubles us more than who goes first.

Why would she? She'd have a couple million and could be more open about the boyfriend she already has.

I need to die first.

If she died first, I'd have no idea how to do anything since no one would be telling me what to do and how to do it.

It is appointed unto each one a time to die.

All marriages aren't like that man, it's a 50/50 relationship. You do for her and she does for you.

Marriage is a lot of work though and you get out of it what you put in it.
