I can't wait for the next thread about someone interested in purchasing a Chevy volt and you go and push them to buy a fully loaded f-150.

One one poster said he "pretty much"
Did whatever he wanted.
And you admittedly applied that standard to everyone in the thread responding to the OP?

No, I actually have been arguing against doing "whatever you want" on $30-$35k in this thread.

That was pretty out of left field. Not sure why I'd do that, or why you'd think I would.

some just went off the question in the title and not the question in the OP
lnch is holding everyone to the question in the OP
i know the thread is 20 pages and its the message board way to get off track but is that a bad thing?
the house thing imo is the main part of the question.

This thread has turned into:
OT Ballers vs. Oil Field Baws / Hipsters / Poors

You're cherry picking posts with no context of the discussion at the time. I've stuck to the OP's criteria for the most part, but had to modify the argument depending on what was being discussed at the time.

No one cares. Except for lsupride, but he left apparently

Not really sure why that's funny, or how you think laughing makes it not true.

Depends on where you live.
In the BR area it would be hard without a roommate. Even if your house note is $700 to $800 you always have unforeseen expenses. Maybe if you live in an RV, tiny home, or manufactured home you could do it.
If you live in a rural area you could live decently if you watch what you spend.

I honestly didn't even see the part about owning a house when I first read the OP

Long story short, I was boasting and told her that if I were single I could make a budget that would allow me a house, and still save on 35k a year. I honestly think I can. Do yall believe you could?
I mean its directly in the question.
I hope everyone can agree that a single male can live on 35k. Adding in a house is a whole different ballgame.

You have no idea what I do for a living. In fact, it stands to reason how retarded you truly are for believing the data on glassdoor. So eat a dick.

I'd live in an apartment with utilities included or most included. If I'm by myself then that means I can eat Ramen noodles and nobody complains. Don't need DirecTV because porn is not on there.
Yeah, I think I could.

It's right around $1200. It leaves us just under $1000 a month for everything else. We really haven't pulled much from our savings (under $1000) and have been living on this since April.
A single person could save each month without some of the expenses that we have (an infant, student loans). Of course, they may choose to purchase cable or dine out where we don't.

You probably shouldn't post so many personal details if you want to lie on here. Be vague about your exact job title, etc. Just some tips

I saw this thread had jumped to 20+ pages and thought, "how can that be?"
Then I saw lnchbox was involved and thought, "oh yeah, that makes sense."

i shouldn't have said subsidies. I should have said "help."
But you did. And tell me again what "help" a single person that makes 35k a year gets?
I'm guessing you are 26 and still get "help" from your dad.
